This unassuming authentic taqueria is tucked away in a small shopping plaza on the Cleveland Highway. While serving the expected tacos and burritos, it also serves excellent tortas (Mexican sandwiches), steaks, seafood, and Mexican desserts. They offer a lunch menu, children's plates, catering, and they have a bar. The prices are very reasonable.I ate there for lunch and had a delicious torta and the horchata drink was one of the best that I've had in Gainesville. Based on quality of food for price and general ambiance, I rate this restaurant an excellent choice. I definitely plan on return visits.
Admittedly, I was a little nervous about the restaurant since there were not too many reviews nor did the exterior look inviting. We went to the Limestone location and were pleasantly surprised; if I could, I would lean more towards giving this place 3.5 stars. The food is very authentic, delicious but not the best I have ever had, and it was also really fast---and this was during dinner on a Saturday night. My only complaint would be that our waitress was not too friendly, nor did she ever smile, but she did her job fine otherwise. We would go back if we were in the Gainesville area again.
The food is very good but it's soured by the lack of service. Daytime service seems to be good but the evening is lacking. TexMex is the style of the food which works well for our family.

We have found the best freshest Mexican food I've ever had. It's owned by a husband and wife. She uses the same recipes used at home. (Talked to owner.) I have had the Breakfast Tacos, tamales, steak with cheese taco, shrimp w/cabbage taco, and tostada. They use a crumbling cheese, not shredded American. My husband had a breakfast plate that had fresh made refried beans that weren't a paste and super flavorful. Be sure to have the pecan flan. It's flan on top of cake drizzled with homemade caramel. She also makes a chocoflan (haven't tried, yet). They have extended there hours on weeknights to 8 pm.

Fast Casual Mexican restaurant serving tacos, burritos, quesadillas and tortas daily. We also serve Menudo and tamales on the weekends.
Tiny little place we had to hunt for but worth it. Home-made type Mexican food that is really good. They have hand made tamales on the weekend ONLY, which is why we came in (tamales). It wasn't a weekend so we ordered burritos and quesadillas . LOTS of food and great salsa bar, etc. It's just a little walk-in place but we had a very good lunch and will go again.
Good food, light atmosphere. Comfortable seating and Mexican themed decor. Wasn't a loud environment so it was perfect to chat with other associates. Not super cheerful people but it's rare to find happy servers.

A few friends and I stopped by for lunch after our Bible study last week for lunch. Service was slow and wait staff acted like taking time for us was a bother. Salsa and chips were the best part of our visit. I got a combo of burrito and enchilada with rice. Not much flavor to them once they finally arrived. My four friends got their orders and I had to wait 10 more minutes for mine. By the time we left the restaurant my stomach was acting up and when I got home after my 10 minute drive I had to rush to the bathroom - Iâll leave it at that. I love Mexican but definitely wonât be going back here.

Although this restaurant opened fairly recently, it already has a devoted following. The restaurant was busy when we stopped in with a group for a weekday lunch, but we still got fast service. The food tasted great, with fresh ingredients, large portions, and a reasonable price. As the dining area got fuller, the room got noisier, but overall we had a good meal.

Service is ploddingly slow. On last visit I had to go get sweetener that I had requested twice. Same thing with salsa. Food quality has suffered too. While portions are still large entrees lack the spunky flavor profiles found previously. I actually had to get up from the table long after we had finished our meal and run down our server to get the check to pay. The restaurant has a very high ceiling making the noise level resemble Niagra Falls when busy. I hope they address issues and correct as this had been far and away the best Tex-mex restaurant in town.

Restaurant is clean, inviting, a nice decor. Food was good, tasty enjoyable. Chips and Salsa were very good. Service was pleasant at first than became slow and inattentive. We were overcharged for our food when we paid at the register but did not realize it until after we had left. Only one type of Margarita served which was overpriced and nothing special. We won't be back. So many more better options locally. Don't waste your time or money, pass this one up and experience a better place.
