We keep giving this place a chance because it's close and convenient. But in the 3 times we have been there, we have been disappointed every time. Everything seems kinda...soupy to me. Shouldn't re-fried beans at lease have some recognizable beans in them? The taco salad I had on our last visit had some kind of cheese in it that turned really watery, lots of lettuce, and some scrawny pieces of *steak*. The only reason we went back this last time was to have dinner with friends that wanted to go. I'd go again (and choose something else) if our friends want to go back, but I would never suggest we all go there.

We ate breakfast hear on our way home today. Everything was delicious. The eggs, biscuits, gravy, home fries, and pancakes were all delicious. Next time weâre in Blowing Rock weâll definitely go back and try dinner next time!Our meal was as good as Sunny Rock and it use to be our favorite!

I've had good experiences at this restaurant, but the last time was not one of those. The restaurant is clean and the service is always good. I ordered Chile rellenos which just were not good. The peppers were tough and a little bitter, the sauce was bland, and the whole presentation was wet, messy, and unappetizing. I might return, but would never order this dish again.

This one one of my boyfriend's favorite hangouts when he was a student at App State, and he was so excited to show it to me. While the food was mostly the same, he was very disappointed at the "remodel," where they took away the character and left the old divey interior. It's a shame that so much of the artwork is gone. He was also extremely bummed that they replaced the toys for identifying your order with actual table numbers. It lost a lot of the cool quirks that made it unique. However, the food is good, and I guess that's most important.

We just returned from having lunch. My husband and I shared a huge platter that says serves two. We each had three sides, roll, ribs, chicken wings and pulled pork. Didnât even touch the pulled pork. Brought it back with two wings and two ribs for later at the cabin. Only negative comment is the seating is at picnic tables and a little hard to get in and out of for big people and disabilities.

We enjoyed sitting outside with our new dog (the inside looks spacious and very comfortable. The Manager, Nik Leon, greeted us and actually took our order, very professional and personable. Our Waitress was friendly and efficient. Our meals were exceptional, freshly prepared with ample portions. We look forward to our next visit. The menu is quite extensive and begs for another experience. We hope you like it as much as we did !

This was my second visit and I wanted to pick up my takeout order. Called the restaurant twice to order (about 5:30 p.m. -Saturday night) and received a message âunable to take your call...please try again laterâ....both times.Then, I decided to order online....it was now 5:35...placed the order for two Jumbo Shrimp Quesadilla....earliest time for pick up was 6:45.Got to the restaurant..parking lot packed, all tables and booths full a few waiting to get seated, some picking up take out. I entered the restaurant at 6:30 (15 minutes earlier than indicated). When I approached the hostess/cashier she was remarkably cool, calm, friendly in the midst of âorganized chaos â. About 12 - 14 take out bags were stacked up ready for pick up. I showed her my order number, she checked the computer...smiled and said oh yes, your order is ready!The food is well above average, prices are extremely reasonable...guess that is why you should be prepared to wait....for take out pick up, for seating at the restaurant and for being able to get an order placed.Bottom line....if you have the time and patience....well worth the wait.
