Recently went on a Friday night for happy hour before seeing a concert at the Tacoma Dome. Definitely get there early because they get busy real fast, especially on the weekends. Happy hour menu has good variety of food but no drink specials. I had the blood orange margarita, very tasty and made strong. Nachos, black bean queso, guacamole, street tacos and the jalapeño poppers were amazing!

I stopped here twice on my recent trip to Tacoma. I had the tacos (fish and lengua) and chili rellenos. The food itself was delicious and worth a 4 star rating. I found the salsa bar to be rather disappointing, I would have liked some spicy options. The ambiance of the restaurant could use a little sprucing up. The prices are reasonable, I will be sure to give them another shot on my next trip.

We were looking for a place to eat in Edgewood before doing a distillery tour (Nightshade Distillery - just south of this commercial area) and chose this place. It appears to have been here for some time and has developed a clientele. We were seated promptly and had an attentive waitress. We appreciated the chips (and the refill) with both salsa and pico de gallo. We ordered 2 taco salads - unusual in that they didn't come in a crisp tortilla bowl, but had the meat on the bottom of the plate, heated, and covered with the lettuce, peppers, sour cream and guacamole. Delicious! I poured salsa on mine.My wife had a burrito - huge and very good. When in the area again, we'll be back. Prices are moderate.

This used to be a taqueria, it's selling points were hand made tortillas, and a self-serve salsa and chip bar, Based on the rave reviews we read on other sites, we began going here about 18 months ago. The location on Orchard Street became our once a week or more haunt, and it was filled with working class people often still in their uniforms, and families. It was good, fast and cheap, so there was not much to dislike. Now they have changed their business model, our friendly counter ladies who used to take our order are replaced by men in black dress shirts and ties, you no longer order at the counter and have access to the chips, salsa and pickled veggies, they are supposed to wait on you, but the staff seems resentful of the change, so you are largely ignored now. The one type of salsa they brought us was crummy, instead of the 5 good kinds they offered before. I suspect a new owner or manager thinks they are going to make a restaurant out of this little taqueria, but in my opinion, they killed the place trying to do so. We will not be back.. Know of a Good taqueria in Tacoma?
Went after the busy lunch and caught their Happy Hour menu. Food was very reasonable and good. Authentic Mexican street tacos is what I ordered - they came with 3 heaps of meat taco filing on 6 mini tacos shells - Effectively made 6 tacos. My wife ordered the mini Chimicangas. there were 3 of these with guacamole and sour cream. Plenty of chips and very tasty - Hot salsa - Very affordable meal. the Sports Bar was close and service was great.
