We arrived at our reservation time and were immediately seated at a table by the window. Ordered a couple of margaritas, one blood orange the other pomegranate, lots of ice and very watery. Pom margarita tasted ok but blood orange had little to no blood orange flavor. Server at times was rude correcting us for slightly miss pronouncing an ingredient. Ordered the chicken taco and mussels, both we good, the mussels could have used more sauce. Don’t think we will be back.

My wife and I ate here on a very busy Sunday afternoon. It was packed. Parking is inadequate for the number of would-be diners--many people had to park and walk some distance. Access into the restaurant is not the best for handicapped diners. We and six other arrivals stood and were completely ignored by the busy staff for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. Evidently, many members of the service staff do not speak English and will not make eye contact or acknowledge any spoken word. The actual waiters were competent, pleasant and English speaking; however, they were extremely overworked and hurried. On the whole, service was very slow from beginning to end. We waited before seating and we waited for the check. While dining, we were harrassed by house flies. The food was OK. We were told by the staff on the hotel service desk that it was the best Mexican in Black Mountain. I'll take their word for it, it probably is the best in Black Mountain, but it is nothing special. My wife and I will not be going back--it was not the most pleasant dining experience.

We chose shrimp and chicken tacos and they came smothered in cheese, to the point that you could not taste the other ingredients. Very average quality. We ate on patio because the restaurant inside has an unpleasant smell (??). Cannot recommend. Thanks for stopping by. This is the first I have heard of a bad smell coming from the restaurant, most guests enjoy the smell of our kitchen creating our fabulous Fresh Mex with a Twist of Asheville dishes. If you choose to give us another try I highly recommend the Fish Tacos which are always a fan favorite and have no cheese. All my best!

Tried this restaurant based on trip advisor reviews and was not disappointed!! Service was outstanding, the salsa bar was excellent and the food was amazing. We ordered the Mexican City tacos, carne Asada tacos and carne asada burrito. All were HUGE portions and absolutely excellent quality. I would come here again and again, prices were very reasonable!

Having come from Texas, I am pretty particular about Mexican cuisine. This hole in the wall along Hwy 70 would escape most motorist's attention. Deservedly so for its appeal is not in its decor or style. But the shy waitresses will take good care of you as if your visiting a private home. Go with the specials and the waitresses advise you what is on the stove. Not all things on the menu are available anysways. Flavors were superb and you could tell the sauces had simmered and ingredients simple and fresh. Inexpensive and authentic.

Someone at the doctor's office recommended this place. So I stopped here ordered a Chile poblano and a chicken enchilada with rice and beans. Enchilada was pretty good however they should have put sauce inside as well cause the chicken was somewhat dry. The poblano was good but my rice has hardly no flavor. The salsa bar was interesting. I may come back and try something else.

Nothing really negative that can be said about Abeja's. Nice friendly service, limited but very good menu selection. Just two minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Visited with 5 colleagues for business lunch. We waited and watched four other tables get served that arrived after we did. Patio seating nice & off from the main road, which helps with noise. Interesting atmosphere. It appears that the place must have been a 50’s diner at some point. Food is California style but a bit bland. Plenty of options. Bathrooms need an update. Plenty of parking, but spots are very narrow. Was a trick to get my Tundra parked at lunch time. Slow service was very unnecessary. Friendly, but slow. Convenient location.
