Things to do in Dodge City
Very friendly owners with an excellent selection of ice cream (we chose pine nut and coconut). The scoops were generous and inexpensive. Also, we were really craving Takis and we were lucky they had the flavor we like!
Just awful. The cheese dip was cold, tortilla chips stale, rice and beans almost warm... I almost broke a tooth on my daughterâs churro. On the positive side, it did not smell of cow poop inside the restaurant like the entire city, and the chorizo was tasty. To top it off, the meal cost $108 which was a total rip off for what we ordered. Do yourself a favor and keep driving, not just past Los Sombreros, but past Dodge City all together. This is an amazingly bad restaurant.

Ate lunch at Jalisco Mexican Restaurant on Saturday September 3rd. Good food and an excellent house margarita. Very reasonable prices too. I eat there every time I'm in Dodge City anymore. I definitely recommend this place.BTW, they are located in the mall, not on Wyatt Earp. Google shows 2601 Central Ave, and it has a photo of their current location. Trip Advisor would not let me use their current address. They've been at the mall for a couple of years.
Authentic Mexican food. We just stopped in for a beer, but the food smelled really good, so we ate too. We shared an appetizer combination that was more than enough for a meal. All very good and good service. I tried their drink special-a sort of bloody mary made with beer and tomato juice and spices. Not too hot and good, but not something I'd go out of my way to drink again. Definitely a casual, popular place.
Traveling through. I ate dinner (shrimp tacos- outstanding) and breakfast (heuvos rancheros- good). Very friendly and attentive staff. I would recommend giving them a try.
Great Real Mexican Food! No loud TV's. I visited with a Good Friend that knows Good Food! I enjoyed the Melon Water. She ordered us the Sopes and Patadas. It was all Great. Clean restaurant and Very Sweet Waitress

This had mixed reviews, so gave it a try. We have excellent mexican food in the south, so I just wanted to try this place. The food was good, but not what I'm used to, so.....it wasn't great but it wasn't bad. I'm going to say just different. The waiter was very nice and prompt.

This is average Mexican food and below average service. We are in Dodge City so steak or Mexican comes to mind. . I expected much more. Food was ok. Got the triple platter thing so I could try a few things. overpriced, lots of beans and rice. Two overcooked shrimp, a small amount of chicken and asada.. Margarita was poor. Plenty of Mexcan places in town to try. Go there.

Dodge City, Kansas restaurants are not known for spectacular food. The best that I can say is that most of the good restaurants are family-owned and serve fresh, hot, filling food that is better than what the franchises have to offer. The quality varies depending upon who's in the kitchen and serving tables at the time you stop in. There's good, and then there's better. Casa Alavarez is an example of the former. The Friday night my family of 8 dropped in the food was average, at best. The refried beans were fresh out of the Rosarita can; the Green Chile burro was more sauce than pork; and the tacos well-filled. Our waiter was attentive, the prices reasonable, and most of our party left satisfied with their meal. My wife and I have eaten at this location as well as their now-closed Boulder and Greeley CO locations years ago and expected better quality. We'll try another Mexican restaurant next time we visit Dodge City.

Casual dining with three separate venues. One area has a classic casual dining area, another section offers an open concept sports bar feel with a thirty foot full service bar and TV's. The third area offers a unique dining car that you can sit and enjoy
Wonderful atmosphere with opportunity to eat in the saloon area or even a railroad dining car. Ask the owner for a tour and see the old safe and learn the history of the building. If you love trains, thereâs a lot to see here in the decor. Best brisket ever and Iâve spent a lot of time in Texas! Prices extremely fair too.
