We experienced the rudest, most argumentative hostess tonight while trying to be seated. Once there, our drink order was taken within 10 minutes. Not bad you say? Well, no one came back for our food order for 40 minutes & only after I complained. The wait for actual food took another 25 minutes. While we waited the eternal wait for food, we had to chase someone down for chip, dip and drink refills. I tried to complain about our poor service experience only to be met with a kiss my posterior attitude. Not to be in a hurry or anything, it took another 15 minutes to get our checks.
I stopped at Julio's in a hurry just to have a quick lunch and had an excellent surprise. I had the Bistec plate that includes (guacamole, refritos, pico de gallo and sour cream. Beef was seasoned in the Mexican tradition and all the fixings were fresh and home made. Good place for Tacos.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch after antiquing nearby. We were surprised with the interesting menu, looked authentic. I wanted something different so the waiter (quite helpful) suggested the cochinita pibil (slow cooked chunks of pork), wife got the chili releno. Both were fantastic--the pork had a wonderful sauce on it, and wife loved the stuffed poblano as well. margaritas were quite good.

While visiting friends in the Houston area my wife said she wanted some good Mexican food; our friends said they 'knew a place.'From the reception to the table was friendly and fast, and our server, Joe, was there within moments. Beverage orders were taken, water was poured, salsa and chips were delivered - we were on a roll. I want to add that, unlike most 'Mexican' restaurants we've eaten at, where they provide Hot and Medium or Mild red salsa's we got a red 'strong medium' and a green salsa/guacamole sauce that was just right. The chips were still warm - they make them there, we're told. I found the chips a bit thin when compared to most. They were excellent, fresh and crispy but to my dismay they were so thin they didn't stand up to 'scooping' salsa as I'm accustomed - they wouldn't support the dip and broke easily.I had a margarita that was typical for a restaurant and found it good; the others had sodas or tea.We ordered a Quesa dip for an appetizer. It was good, hot, and flavorful though it wasn't as 'chunky' (with add-ins - diced peppers and such) as I like.I don't remember what everyone ordered had but I got an order of stuffed Poblano's. They were substantial, hot, really good tasting and terrific! Oh, and they came with some bean soup that was excellent too. All of us cleaned our plates proving everything was good. We were too stuffed to order dessert. All of the food was great but the most exceptional part of the meal was the table service. There's a fine line between hovering and being obnoxious and being prompt, thorough, attentive and taking care of business. Joe was spot-on! There wasn't a time when the salsa cups got below half-full, the chip basket got down to a quarter, no water glass or soda got below a quarter, nothing sat empty and in the way for more than a couple of heartbeats. Joe was convivial, interesting, interested, knowledgeable and an excellent host. It'll be a while before we get back to Casa Olé but, I assure you, when we get back to Pasadena we'll stop here for food.If you get by there before us - please say HI to Joe for us!

The restraunt seemed to be clean inside and out. When I ordered my food the service was clear and fast. The wait for food went fast and the staff seemed to be on top of getting orders out.
We've been to Vegas 3 times now and tried something different from the menu each time. Impressed with their food, and the service has been good. We'll be back! They also have margaritas which are tasty!
We ate at the downtown location, 1001 Main St, Houston, TX 77002, which I couldn't find on Trip Advisor but see yelp reviews? Anyway, we were looking for a breakfast place on Saturday morning and they opened at 9am and we had breakfast tacos. The BT's were really yummy and made to order very quickly. They didn't have their coffee brewed yet so the cashier gave us free coffee due to our wait. They have a staff that brings you drinks and the food out to the table but you order at the counter and take a number. The downtown location was more like a bar/restaurant and looked like it could be fun at night. We would eat there again, service was friendly and fast and food was very good!

Stopped in because they were convenient and we were hungry. It was shortly after noon and the place was empty - the cars in the parking lot was very misleading. Tortilla chips were not fresh - why would you serve stale chips to paying customers? Salsa was just weird - never had anything like it. Queso was melted cheddar, really? It is literally cheese, that's it. Nacho appetizer was horrible, so we left this quiet, empty, alcohol-free environment and went to a real Mexican restaurant.

With Mexican Food on every block in this part of the world Gringoâs is average at best. I found it to be overcrowded and hurried. Service was average and the prices were as well. It certainly is not an hour wait good.

The patio is really nice to sit on and is first come first serve so no waiting in line if you like to sit outside. The food is good. Its a little pricey compared to others in the area. They have a nice bar selection and service is good. We had dirty tostadas and street tacos. We visit once a month or so.
