I stopped at El Barco for lunch last Wednesday. Even though the lot was full of cars, I was seated immediately. My waitress was at my table in two minutes (tops). I ordered the Burrito Fiesta and iced tea. My meal and drink was on the table within 10-minutes. That was just the right amount of time for me to enjoy some corn chips and ice cold homemade salsa. The burrito was good as was the rice and beans. All-in-all, it was a good lunch with great service....about $9.00. This is a good âlocals placeâ and certainly worth a try. Iâm glad I did.

The service here was fast, the ladies were knowledgable and very efficient. The food I ordered was for 3 of us and to go, all of it was done exactly to order and tasted fantastic. This was my first visit to this store, and it is worth going back. Nice place to eat in too, cozy, clean and convenient.

We were here last Friday the 8th... There were six of us and we were starving... The chips and salsa are top notch... One of our group had been there several times, and encouraged us to try the food... In fact, the waiter called both he and his wife by name... The food was hot and quick and tasty... The person in our group that had been there previously, asked what was NOT on the menu... The chef prepared something for him on the spot... Great service, genuinely appreciated our business and treated us well... This restaurant is staying on the top of our go to list...

Went for lunch with work associates. All ordered off the lunch menus. The decor is nice with full bar. Staff friendly and efficient. Not what I would consider lunch portions. They were huge but so tasty could not quit eating. Huge tasty lunch for under $10. Looks like they have a good happy hour specials. Plan on giving it a try.

They're new - been open about 5 weeks. They had a Groupon issued last week. They're in the old Alohana location.
Agave Grill is owned by some of the nicest people you will meet. The staff is very friendly. Restaurant clean, bathrooms too! Now the food - I personally love it! They have a large variety at a great price. I have 6 adults in my family and our bill came to around $50.00. Everyone left full! and happy! Table side guacamole is a must! The only complaint I have is the salsa bowls are too small for my hungry crew. The poor waitress had to refill them about as fast as she put them down. We went with a group of 11 and there were no problems in getting the food out fast or hot. Everyone was served at the same time! Going Back soon!

Monterrey in Clive has three things going for it:1. The food is always delicious (I swear by the Guadalajara Special).2. Service is fast and friendly (rarely more than about five minutes from order to hot food on the table).3. The prices are perfectly reasonable (dinner out with the family never comes close to breaking the bank, and the portions are huge). You're guaranteed to leave with a full belly and a smile on your face.

I lived in Dallas before this became a franchise, and was thrilled when it finally came to Des Moines. However, over the years the quality has eroded. Old Timer with cheese still a favorite, but not above average. Fries are good. Soups marginal. Chips and salsa probably the highlight. El Presidente margarita is worth it, with its own shaker.

Joined a friend to visit and have a bite. We shared the beef nachos, a generous portion - flavorful and delicious. Their complimentary salsa is so good - we included that with each bite. Service was fantastic - constantly refilling our drinks - and bringing salsa. A perfect little lunch! Looking forward to trying more items.

The last time we were here it was "ok". We decided to give it another try, because it used to be very good. We waited and waited for the server and ended up doing something I don't think we have ever done before... we walked out. We told the cashier who shrugged. End of story. A lot of Mexican restaurants in the area... go to one of them.

Very good service. I love their spice sauce and the melon margarita. Good prices. I didn't like the chile verde pork, had a lot of fat couldn't eat it at all. Besides that, the rest was very good. I tried the blackberry margarita was good too.
