Alejandras Mexican and American

wonderful tex mex dishes, burgers and ambiance! It's an old building with lots of charm. We were there on a Sunday around noon -- fun!

We have passed this restaurant on several trips out west recently and this last time it was lunchtime. Inside this great old stone building is a cute restaurant with friendly staff and really fast service. We enjoyed the cheese and chicken enchiladas and one of us took part of theirs home for dinner and didn’t share! The menu was varied and fairly large for this small town. I bet it becomes a favorite of ours.

We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday as we passed through town. The restaurant was not busy and we had fast service. The lady running the front and the gentleman working the kitchen (who also delivered our food) were both friendly and provided excellent service. Our dishes were served on piping hot plates, as Tex-Mex always should be. I had a Mexican dinner which includes a taco, cheese enchilada, beef enchilada, tamale, rice, beans, lettuce & tomato, and a delicious sweet slaw. It was a ton of food. The enchiladas and tamale had a rich mole sauce, different from the plain gravy often served at this kind of restaurant. Very good. My husband ordered a burrito. The lady who took his order warned him that it was spicy, and it was! He loved it. It was a generous portion. The setting is small town café. Nothing fancy but friendly and welcoming. The only recommendation I have is that they might paint and give a deep cleaning to the bathroom. The café seemed clean, but the bathroom walls and door were very stained and discolored, and the bathroom in general seemed dirty. A fresh coat of paint would really do wonders. We will definitely eat here again.

This is a popular place; in addition, it has a drive-in window where orders may be placed, and people going to work place large orders, which may slow the delivery of service within the restaurant. Having said that, if time is not a significant factor, this place is great for breakfasts. The migas were excellent and thew hot sauce - both read and green - are outstanding. I'd return to this restaurant.

Acapulco offers delicious Mexican food for great prices. The Mom's Plate is rice, bean chalupa, cheese enchilada, guacamole and salad. I had this and ate everything. The chips are crispy, but I prefer chunky salsa and the salsa at Acapulco was thin. As I stated in the title the building is old which leads you to think it's not that clean, but all of the tables that were cleared while we were there were cleaned with disinfectant. The servers were very friendly. I definitely would return for another meal.
