This is a standard fare place but gave exceptional value and was fulfiling when we were on a brief stop in Bakersfield.Theer brown rice filled burrito bowl was delicious and its salsa ad sour cream added immense zing to it!The Guacomale was charged extra but was really worth it given its fresh flavour and taste

I was visiting my cousin and she knows that I like Mexican food so this is where she took me. I was amazed at the amount of choices you can make from the menu and then adapt them to your taste. I had the 3 item combination meal choosing tacos and enchiladas along with rice and refried beans. Everything was fresh, tasty and a lot to eat so I did take half of the meal home. My cousin also took half of her meal home too. The price is reasonable with the amount of food you get. I would certainly return to the Red Pepper the next time I am in Bakersfield.

We had late dinner here, choice is OK, but none of us managed to end his dish which is not that usual. Quality acceptable in a neighborhood more aimed on passing by people from the highway?!

Mexi Southwest has been our family favorite for 31 years. I canât count the number of times weâve been here. They have announced that this location is up for sale (they will continue to operate their downtown location). Our family members intend to return here as often as possible for as long as possible â because we love everything here, starting with the best margaritas in town, fresh chips and consistently tasty salsa. We love their tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, burritos, chili rellenos (Esterâs Delight!), and anything that includes their chili verde or chunks of tender beef. We love their off-menu âminiâ options: tacos, tostadas, burritos. The serving staff here have often been recognized as among the best in town. We love them. The ambiance is the best in town for a Mexican restaurant. We will return here, until we canât. After that, we will head downtown (itâs very good, too).

Mauricio's Grill & Cantina, is a Mexican restaurant with family atmosphere catering to families in the Bakersfield area since 1996.
I went there alone for a lunch and was so disappointed in the amount of food, the wait time and the staff rudeness. The food was sparse, not like your usual Mexican restaurants. But the quantity was not the real problem; it felt unfriendly and like I was in the way. I left so unsatisfied and won't go back. La Mina's and others are so much better.

Literally my favorite taco place in town! I have been going there since I was 5. I would go there every night if I could. Just amazing! The sopes are amazing and their pickled onions are to die for. Can't go wrong with a perfect street taco from them

I love their food and the environment! Sad to see the Stockdale location close but still love going to the original location downtown, always a great time!

Ok they do a great take on micheladas. The food while very good, does not have enough kick for me personally. But is probably perfect for your casual diner that likes it mild. Atmosphere is great, love the muerto theme going on. Lots of color. Food is fresh and tasty.

The six of us stopped by for dinnerWe had mixed feedbacks; Our six years old didnât like her kids meal which was a bit too dry My starter was just OK, it should have been bread filled with potatoes and chorizo - it felt more like spiced breadThe burrito we had was just wonderful so was the fajita So a bit of both worlds - I suppose that with experience we could order better and match the same level of ranking like Iâve seen others have given the restaurant ... next time
