We went here twice the first time in the afternoon the food was fresh and tasty we purchased wine from Dennis and he charged us â¬13 per bottle, we then went a second time in the evening the food was very poor. I think Dennis must have forgotten we purchased wine already and he sold some of our other group wine for â¬5 per bottle which was very frustrating as some of us got ripped off, we only realised this once we left otherwise we would have confronted Dennis there and then! letâs just say we wonât be returning and I certainly wouldnât recommend this placeI can figure out from your words that you're the table with the 10 people (if not then it's my mistake) i can respond with honesty after 32 years in business and set things right.As we told you when you came the second time we had a serious problem with the kitchen and you chose to stay. When i informed you that it might take some time to fix it you said it's ok "we'll have some bread and tomato and we'll go somewhere else for dinner." You got annoyed by this situation that day but you chose to stay. You could have gone somewhere else from the beginning. When you ordered meze for two you didn't ask what's the meze is. And you said it's very greasy and you had a better one in another restaurant. Greek meze is everywhere the same. Maybe in the other restaurant you asked for something different and you cannot compare two different things. And now about the wine..... You say that we charged 13 euro the first time and 5 the second time. IT'S TRUE BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME WAS BLACK WINE AND THE SECOND WAS WHITE WINE! white wine is cheaper!!!!. Please excuse my writing but sometimes we need to think before we expose a comment or review to the public. Service was ok but not as personal as some restaurants that we have visited. Location is good, however mains dishes seem to be on average a couple of euros more expensive for the traditional Greek dishes in comparison to similar restaurants that we have visited. We ate at Taverna Dimitri three times over four days (one breakfast, one lunch, one dinner). We tried other places as well, but were so warmly welcomed by the owner and the whole staff here that we felt right at home. This is a family owned and operated business that takes great pride in serving authentic local cuisine, individually prepared to order using high quality fresh ingredients. Vegetarians note: the menu has an entire vegetarian section.Save room for their frigania - rich, creamy, and not excessively sweet like other nearby places. And be sure to try the family-made raki; the best I tasted on the island. If you're visiting from afar, order something you consider adventuresome, try to pronounce the dishes in Greek, show appreciation for the culture. Genuine interest will be reciprocated with extreme hospitality. On the other hand, if you're protective, entitled, or demanding, you might consider elsewhere.

We went with our two kids and everyone was super kind (one year old children can be pretty intense...). We felt at home and the food is delicious: chicken souvlaki is amazing!!!!! Thanks for the experience and thank you for welcoming our families in your beautiful taverna!

Passed the restaurant by chance and happy I did. The service was amazing and the food matched, nice atmosphere in the local area. Food was fresh best Iâve had on the island! Definitely coming back and Christos also what service, made the whole experience complete.

Brilliant food and charming services.We had octopus wich was delicioas and for the kids we shared salmon. Everything was perfect.Restaurant looks also very good.For sure we will return again if we will revisit the island.We recommand to the owner to introduce as sidedish for the octopus spicy corn in a pan with butter. Many thanks.

I have just returned from lunch here and it was delicious. We are fortunate in that our accommodation is just across the road from this place, and had been meaning to pay a visit since we arrived in Zante last week, but our various trips across the island never provided the right timing as it is only open at during the day. We finally had the chance today! The lentil soup, aubergine/potato bake, and organic roast chicken that compromised our order was delicious. The food had some real flavour and I was ecstatic to have a dish that was not accompanied by the usual chips! The complementary watermelon to round off the meal was a nice touch. The owner was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu (there isn't a written one). This place deserves to do well. I am now lying in a happy food coma. Well worth a visit, especially if you're fed up with the tourist fare being passed off as 'Greek' food.

If you are looking for a small piece of heaven...you can find it in Porto Kaminia beach bar. Excellent food, kind and warm staff. Sunbeads and shades are free of charge. Sandy beach, as well as grass area. Also great for kids, for they offer a playground as well.Thank you very much Aleksandar!
