Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Zakynthos. The Ionian Islands are splendid, cinematic paradise. The waters are bluest blue, the sands are achingly silky and smooth. Everything looks heavily Photoshopped. But that's just Mother Nature, in all her unspoiled glory. Zakynthos is the largest of the Ionian Islands, and it's as fruitful as it is beautiful, boasting a bounty of crops like olives and grapes. Music is a huge part of the local culture—you can catch a concert or festival almost any night of the week, and you'll be captivated by the sights and sounds of Zakynthos performers.

I have just returned from lunch here and it was delicious. We are fortunate in that our accommodation is just across the road from this place, and had been meaning to pay a visit since we arrived in Zante last week, but our various trips across the island never provided the right timing as it is only open at during the day. We finally had the chance today! The lentil soup, aubergine/potato bake, and organic roast chicken that compromised our order was delicious. The food had some real flavour and I was ecstatic to have a dish that was not accompanied by the usual chips! The complementary watermelon to round off the meal was a nice touch. The owner was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu (there isn't a written one). This place deserves to do well. I am now lying in a happy food coma. Well worth a visit, especially if you're fed up with the tourist fare being passed off as 'Greek' food.

"Cave Damianos Taverna" is located in a verdant scenery, where the magnificent sunset and the views of the Ionian Sea combine harmoniously with coffees, drinks and the delicious dishes of Greek local cuisine, uplifting guests' senses to new levels.
We went here as part of an organised tour including the 'Hidden Village' and Damianos Caves. A gorgeous drive up the winding mountain road with awesome views led us to the Taverna. The classical Greek décor and the stunning views set the scene. The friendly staff, traditional Greek menu and tasty local wines all helped make a perfect evening. The food was delicious and I can personally recommend the Grilled Sea Bream. We were a little rushed at the end due to the restaurant being so busy and our driver being on a schedule, but that did not spoil the experience. This little gem is well off the beaten track, but very much worth the effort to get there.

We came here to have a family dinner and no regrets. The staff is really kind and funny. The food is more than enough, big portions and everything is well-cooked, tasty. I definetely recommend this place for a romantic date, for a family lunch/dinner, there are a lot of varieties of meals. No dissappointment about this place, thank you!The hungry hungarian family: Zsolt, Ildikó, Laura and Linda

We visited Premier four times during our September holiday having discovered this restaurant in 2018. Dennis and his wife Angela welcomed us back with open arms and couldnât do enough to keep us happy. The food is fabulous, the sizzling prawns and mussels starters were the best ever and we never missed these on every visit !!!! One of the nicest parts of these visits (apart from the food) is the horse and carriage Dennis sends to collect you from your hotel - it is truly lovely and makes us feel really special.Thank you Dennis and Angela - we will see you in September 2020Brian & Wendy (Robinson)

Traditional Greek meze/tapas restaurant bar Family run business. Using whenever possible locally sourced organic produce catering for fish/meat lovers but also have varied vegetarian and vegan dishes.
I can only agree with all the positive reviews. This is a lovely little Greek restaurant serving greek tapas style dishes. The decor is lovely shabby chic appearance. The is is typically greek nut different to the run of the mill food on the strip, a welcome change. We wasn't sure how it worked at first and what to order at first but the owners are very helpful and happy to explain the tapas dishes. We ordered a few small dishes to start with and then odered more later on.All the food we had was very good quality and delicious. You can tell they really care about the ingredients and food they serve here.Small menu at included some vegetarian options, also a few extras on the specials board (courgette fritters were so tasty and we're not veggies). We found the house white wine to best the best we have found in Zante, so fresh and crisp, 10 euros per litre not badly priced. We had a great evening eating and drinking here.It is a 10-15 minute walk from Kalamaki, Just past Michelos but well worth the extra steps. We have already decided that we need to go again soon.Definitely recommend you try.

Halfway House established in 2012 and it is a family run restaurant â bar looking to create excellent food & happy memories for each & everyone of you. In the pursuit of honest, flavoursome food, we work with local businesses to source the highest quality
This place is a little bit more than a traditional Greek taverna and is extremely popular. Always full, even on the final week of the season, the food and service are lovely. Not the cheapest place but hardly a massive premium on other establishments and it is so worth it.

Back to Tsilivi again, and just had to go back to this marvellous restaurant. Alex and his family greet you like old friends, nothing is too much trouble. The food is superb home cooked traditional fayre. Zakynthian local dishes all cooked with care and love. The local wine is some of the best I have tasted and the frigania is delicious! When you leave, Alex always says "thank you for joining us this evening." You feel like you have been invited into his home, and treated to the best Greek meal you are likely to have while on holiday.Dear guest Thank you for your time to review us and for the nice compliments. We are very glad that you enjoyed your meal at our restaurant. We will be happy to see you and serve you again. Regards Alex and Team

Next door to the Majestic Spa Hotel. Lovely place with really friendly staff. Emilio the man that greets you at the door is really helpful and has really good English. It has really good food especially the full English breakfast and good evening meals and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Carpe Diem is an all day and night restaurant located on the main strip of Laganas. Guests have the chance to taste Mediterranean and Vegetarian dishes as well as coffees and a large variety of cocktails.
Food was very good couldnât fault it, but the waiters didnât know anything about wine, the mythos was flat!, sent it back no apology or no offer of a replacement, no one came to ask if you wanted anymore drinks or a dessert, not the service we were expecting.
