I always find ordering small plates a bit of a challenge -- how many are the right amount to order? Its even harder when you don't know a restaurant well. To be on the safe side, we ordered 5 small plates for 2 women, which was a bit much, but we ate it all anyway. I'm glad to say that the scallops and chicken dishes were larger than expected and both were very good -- the scallops were really excellent. The lamb shank was not a big amount of food but very good. The Kale was very good and a good amount, but the rice dish (with nuts and currents) was good but a little mushier than it should be. The bread that came with the meal was hot and delicious, which is one of the reasons why 5 small plates were more than enough. I'd recommend Agora as a very good restaurant though not as ecstatically as some of the other reviewers.

Komi appears in the top echelon of most reviewers, but it is not in mine. The 12ish course tasting menu provided a varied and tasteful variety, but led to ennui...another course? The wine pairings were thoughtful, but on the lower end of quality. Bathe service was crisp and polite, exactly as it should be. But wait? The ambience? Enter through a tatty storefront into a common rectangular room without decoration unless one views brick walls as decorative. The spacing of the tables was excellent, but why not? The linens and silverware were below average even for a retro factory style. Yes; I know it is about the food, but at the top, should one not expect and receive it all? I certainly do.

I don't say this often (pretty much never) but The Pembroke is outstanding all around. From the time you step in the door, you'll feel welcome. Service is clearly a focus and all of the staff here provide excellent service. Matthew, our waiter, was fun and great help with the menu including the wine selection. The menu is not lengthy but the a good well rounded selection and changes seasonally. Our group ordered a variety of dishes from the lamb to fish to steak frites and all of them were outstanding. We managed to have room for a shared desert; also wonderful. The manager also stopped (I noticed he stopped at each table at some point during dinner) to check on guests. It was a nice touch. If you're looking for the perfect place for a special dinner or you just want to feel pampered, this is the place for you. Admittedly, we went here with high expectations. Service was very good--friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We tried a number of dishes including the bacon wrapped dates, the shrimp with garlic, the baby squid sauteed with white beans, the grilled hanger steak and the patatas bravas. The shrimp, the hanger steak and the bravas were all good to very good, but didn't have the wow factor. The dates and the baby squid were OK at best. Went to another Andres' restaurant a few doors down the block, China Chilcano, and was blown away by the food. Perhaps it's just a matter of individual taste. That said, glad I tried it.

I just visited this lovely restaurant for the second night in succession - I'm only in Washington for 3 nights but I just could not resist going back!The decor is subtle and tasteful and creates a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.But the real treat is the exquisite traditional Italian food and the amazing service. By service I refer specifically to Mirjana - she was simply fantastic. She was working the bar, attending the till and serving the table and managed it all with great courtesy and efficiency - what an asset to the property!We had three different dishes - spicy sausage, pizza and crumbed mozzarella and all were superb!Highly recommended venue. Well done Majana.

This is an excellent Middle Eastern/Greek fusion restaurant that offers outstanding mezze dishes. I recommend the lunch tasting menu. The baba ghanoush is particularly well done and is up to the standards set by Maroush in London (which has the best moutabal outside of the Arab world)! The cold Persian soup was amazing.
