My husband and I were on a holiday in Split and had been on a day trip to Dubrovnik getting back quite late. After a quick shower and a pre dinner drink at a local bar we went here for a pizza. We also ordered a salad and were most impressed that it was delivered with our pizza as we have been to so many places that have brought it out first. We like to eat salad with our pizzas.Great meal and service was spot on.Dear Suehawthorn, thank you for your time dedicated to share your experience at Portas! Surprisingly crowded for the tail end of the season so we were a bit nervous when we walked in and were seated upstairs but service was attentive and the food was excellent quality, creative and prepared with care. It's a contemporary atmosphere, comfortable and welcoming.

An Ok restaurant, but after reading other reviews, I was expecting much better.Basically, a small menu of cheap dishes sold quite expensively to tourists who think they are getting typical Croatian food! Wine expensive but of good quality. The waiters are very friendly, charming and well versed at pleasing the tourist.Nice ambience but If you want quality food the Toro grill is much better.

Pikulece translates as a small bites in Dalmatian dialect. But don't let the name fool you, you won't leave this little gem within the city walls of Split hungry. Creative and youthful bar has new offer and new dishes for great price. Sit and relax at a l
So many places to choose from in Split. Most have outdoor seating, as does this place. Fairly small, great atmosphere, hip relaxed feeling. Mainly tapas style, breads, cheese, charcuterie. Sit outside and people watch. Highly recommend the olive oil ice cream - leave room for it!

Little local place, quite and cozy atmosphere. Local Dalmatian food, homemade pasta, bread and marmelade with a lot of Mediterranean ingredients. You'll feel like one of the locals. Come, try, enjoy! P.S.. We have a very good choice of Croatian wines ;)
Located 5mns from the city walls, the restaurant can accommodate both indoor or outdoor dining, on their enclosed patio. We had:o seared tuna appetizer: this was truly delicious, cooked to perfection (which means slightly undercooked inside).o gaspacho (cold soup): very nicely done.o lamb shank: very tasty, if perhaps not as tender as I hopedo pasta dish: nicely doneTheir red wine (by the glass) put me back on friendly terms with Croatian wine and was very reasonable.Service was very good and the whole dinner was more affordable than I expected.Would definitely return.

WE ARE CLOSED FROM NOVEMBER TO APRIL! Our Cafe and Restaurant is situated in a romantic courtyard of the historical Dalmatian house in the old town of Split, just behind the Theatre. You will be seated on a beautiful terrace where delicious food is freshl
Good friends, whose recommendations we trust, suggested this restaurant. They dined here 3 weeks ago. We were not disappointed. We sat in a lovely courtyard outside with another couple. The restaurant has an extensive wine and cocktail list. Our server, Zeljko was fantastic. His suggestions for starters and entrees were spot on . He recommended the tarte flambé,which resembled a flatbread pizza, with prosciutto. It was fantastic, very flavorful but not heavy. Two of us ordered the rack of lamb, which was fantastic. My wife had the chicken breast which resembled chicken Milanese. It reminded me of the breaded chicken cutlets my Italian American mother would make!!! My friend ordered the Orata fish dish with risotto, and bragged he ordered the best dish at the table. The restaurant carried my favorite amaro,Ramazotti for after dinner drink. By this time the restaurant was nearly empty as we approached 10pm. We had a chance to talk with Zeljko about food, wine and Croatian history. He served us his fatherâs homemade grappa, which was fantastic. I asked if we could join his family for Christmas dinner ! It was a great way to end a wonderful evening .
