Reviews on Mediterranean food in Vorarlberg, Austrian Alps, Austria. Bristling with beautiful lakes, splashing rivers, rugged peaks and looming castles, Vorarlberg is tucked between Switzerland and Germany. This spirited state is dotted with Bauhaus-inspired architecture, eco-friendly dwellings and tiny towns, bristling with spires. Capital Bregenz is the main draw in this alpine locale. Cobblestone streets and a lovely lakeside setting add to its charms. Renowned for its cheese and dairies, Vorarlberg is also a popular spot for skiing and other winter sports.

This restaurant is well worth a visit. The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent - but not cheap. a good house wine was available only the grappa offered was a little below the standard expected after such a good meal. They did not quite get my steak "english" but it was very close and tasted really good. Deserts looked good but a little too flashy for my tastes.

Many good restaurants in Vorarlberg. Der Verwalter was no exception on a sunny summer evening. Seating inside and outside - on a not so impressive terrace - may be more spectacular elsewhere. A warm welcome by friendly, attentive and skilled staff more than made up for it. My company not being very hungry, we ordered a goat cheese salad (very good) and the summer tapas menue, that was a much better deal with the same ingredients, compared to the full menue, according to the waitress. Right she was. 3 very fine starters, 3 small mains and 3 desserts, all 9 delicious. Add an exquisite and still affordable recommended grüner Veltliner. The "dolorosa" (tab) did not lower our spirits. We will definitely be back.

The 'Pizzeria Antonio' is quite a big place, cutting through a whole block from the main entrance at the Bahnhofstrasse to the pedestrianized, cobble-stoned Sturnenstrasse, where there is also some outdoor seating. My choice had been one of a few tables at the Sturnenstrasse. The friendly waiter came fast, so did everything else I ordered. Since there were Austrian dishes on offer as well I went for Vorarlberg's most typical speciality 'Kässpätzle'. Unlike most other places here the dish was offered only with salad not with the choice of the more traditional 'Apfelmus' to accompany it.The dish came in an earthenware bowl, which was quite cold, so it was definitely not prepared in it. It was the third time I ordered this menu within a year. First in Bregenz it arrived in a wooden plate, then in Feldkirch in a piping hot iron plate. And for my taste it got less good everytime. While in Bregenz they used tasty 'Bregenzerwälder Bergkäse' and in Feldkirch a mixture of Vorarlberger Emmentaler and Montafoner Suure Kees (sour cheese), here the waiter couldn't tell me, which cheeses were used, although from a geographical point of view it must have been the same combination as in Feldkirch. The accompanying salad came drowned in a ready made Italian dressing. And the espresso in the end was something between cold and luke-warm.

We arrived on a Saturday night. It was the 1 year anniversary and the place was packed. There was music and the atmosphere was very festive. We had our 3 young boys with us and the pizzas were perfect, bit disappointed with the tiramisu but ice cream bar was great.

We attach great importance to natural ingredients ... and you? All our noodles, except spaghetti, are homemade and are produced without preservatives and artificial flavours. When preparing our sauces, we attach great importance to cooking them fresh for
In a very busy setting yesterday a warm and relaxed welcome and a suitable service. The location is superb at the end of the pedestrian area to the waterfront, sitting in the mid of city life.Very good Carpaccio of tuna fish and of beef, appealing wines from the south of Italy. All in, to be repeated

Good food. Unfortunately, smoking is allowed inside this restaurant - at the bar. The place is small, so on a cold day (and during winter time) people smoke at the bar. Would avoid this place at all costs. It's really "stinky" and difficult to breath here. With that said, the food was average at best.

We're a traditional original Italian trattoria managed as family business with a connected deli.
the restaurant and bar are at a corner, at the end of a bigger italian food shop.the pasta with seafood was salty and dry. the pizza was just average.service and kitchen slow.price was over what i received.perhaps it is better as a shop than as a restaurant.i will not return when passing through lustenau.Dear Atontao,we've been very sorry to read your comment on Tripadvisor and have been also very sadthat you haven't told us anything while you have been in our Restaurant.Otherwise we would have tried to fix our mistakes with new dishes and a drink on the bill of the house. We are anyway thankful for your comment so we can improve our service and hope that,if you're next time close to our restaurant you come inside and talk to me, Giovanni, so I can invite you for a coffe or a bier!Best wishes Giovanni and the team of Italia a Tavola!
