Visby is one of Scandinavia's preeminent medieval cities. Every August, it hosts its medieval week, complete with authentic dress, feasts and jousting. But you don’t need to visit Visby in August to get a sense of its medieval history. Just follow the cobblestone streets that wind throughout the city, take a tour of its Old Town and visit the 13th-century church. You certainly can’t miss the 13th-century wall that stretches three kilometers around the city and was once used as the city’s defense from intruders.

they had tons of pizza options but i had had too much pizza the past few days. the lovely gentleman manning the register invited me in the back to make sure the ingredients i wanted on my pasta would be ok...so, i know the kitchen is clean and my pasta was yummy. my husband's pizza was also good and they accommodated his request for more meat. lovely staff and indoor and outdoor seating options. don't forget to ask for your pizza to be sliced!Thank you for your kind words!
Where to eat Seafood food in Visby: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This is a no-frills Lebanese restaurant with some amazing food and great value for money. Don't get fooled by the big glassed-in food counter that greets you upon entering, which at first glance resembles your average cheap kebab place. The seating inside is cozy and clean! The quality is far superior to most other overpriced and overrated Lebanese restaurants in Sweden, which offer tasteless food, yet attract customers just because they're "exotic." The lamb skewer at Meza is tender, perfectly spiced and thoroughly marinaded. The chicken skewers are charred just right, although a tad too dry. The humus, perfectly creamy and topped with quality oil. The salad, although it could afford to be slightly fresher, was perfectly rounded, without any herb dominating or overpowering the delicate balance. The Harisa was not just served straight out of the can like so many other places, but was blended with nuts and raisins. The cheese rolls were the right color, crispy, but not overdone so they resembled a wannabe croissant. If only all Lebanese restaurants served food like this! The staff is friendly and even remembers your particular choices on your next visit. Highly recommend this place!

Vinäger is our urban oasis located in the world heritage city of Visby. The restaurant is open from June to August. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The cocktail bar is open late and we have both resident and international Djâs performing.
I returned to my favorite resturant in Visby & had my usual bookmaker sandwich which tasted as good as ever. The service was rather slower this time but pretty understandable as it was Almadhalen week. Enjoyed a nice glass of champagne and the food was yammy as always. Make it a point to drop by Vinager whenever you are in Visby as its one resturant that never disappoints. Always better to make a reservation.

Our restaurant is located in the heart of Visby. We have two dining areas, wine cellar, Chambre Separee and a large terrace with a bar in the summer. Here you can indulge in traditional Italian cousine made from local produce with our own special touch. W
We wished for something a little different from the traditional local local fare. We were pleasantly surprised. Excellent staff, wine list and food. I would thoroughly recommend. Thank you for your review. Hope to see you soon again. Benvenuti

We've been visiting Isola Bella (and it's other location by the sea in Snäck and now also in Gnisvard) for many years. The food is consistently delicious. And the staff, along with the owner who is always present, are friendly and unflappable, even when the place is fully booked and every table occupied. The location in the center of Visby is charming. And the interior exposed ancient brick walls, along with the open kitchen, only adds to the charm. In summertime outdoor dining is possible too.

Traveling for one week in Scandanavia, we were a little tired of fish so eager for a different cuisine when we walked past Beyrouth. We immediately made a booking for that evening, its last for the summer before it closed. We were not disappointed; although on a side street, its nice side porch was a great place to people watch as we nibbled on good Lebanese food. We shared one of their specialties, lamb shish kebab which came with three different dips and bread and salad. It was a huge serving, more than enough for two people to share. The lamb was a little disappointing; it seemed a little processed like meat used for making lamb gyros. We would probably have been better with chicken. But still good as were all the dips and side dishes. Refreshing to eat something different and service was friendly.
