Apparently this place only opened around June '17 - we noticed it while exploring the town and decided to book it for an evening meal for 4 of us.Very glad we did - attentive service and delicious food with good variety on offer (a little from France, and a little from further afield as the name implies). We ate outside, under the walls of the Cathedral (there are tables there in a quiet little alleyway which reaches the Place de Herbes) and it made for a very pleasant dining experience all told.Wish the owners all the best with their venture but based on our experince am sure this place will be a success.

I visited with a colleague for lunch, returning from a visit to the Pont du Gard. This restaurant is very popular with cars parked and many people at tables. We arrived at 1:36PM and were seated. The waiter serving was very busy bringing meals to many tables so service was slow..The hamburgers being consumed on adjacent tables looked superb and were being enjoyed by other guests. But, when ordering, disaster, the hamburgers were all finished and not available.More disaster, the two chosen desserts, the Dome intense chocolate and the Entremets Capuccino could not be served either. We had a lunch of alternative entrée and OK dessert but were disappointed overall. If I am going past for an early lunch, perhaps I will try again to sample a hamburger and chocolate dessert.

The restaurant is basically outside but partly under some arches hence the name.I had the grilled St.Marcellin cheese which was a little bowl of melted cheese, followed by tuna steak served with a vegetable salsa and a little bowl of cheesey mashed potato. The tuna was perfectly cooked and was delicious. For dessert I had the banoffee pie which was tasty and surprisingly light.Excellent service and great ambience.129⬠for four was good value considering the rest of the party had 6 glasses of wine amongst them

Staying in St Maximin we wanted somewhere local. We were recommended Le Tracteur but found the staff rude and unwelcoming. We should have tried L'Estanquet first! So friendly. The owners could not have been more welcoming. The food, too, lived up to the enthusiasm of the patrons. Delicious. Between us we had sea bass, rabbit, squid Niçoise and veal; all agreeing that they were wonderful. Puddings, too, were lovely. When we return to Uzès next year we shall return to L'Estanquet

Great food, we tried the "magret de canard" and the "entrecote" and we were fully satisfied. The restaurant has tables inside and outside, in a cozy garden. The restaurant has baby seats. The service is fast and the wait staff is friendly and smiling. Since our baby was showing signs of boredom the waitress kindly brought us a toy to distract her while waiting for our dishes.

The restaurant at the Hostellerie Le Castellas will awaken all your senses with a range of gourmet delights. - Inside, the vaulted rooms made of stone from Vers Pont du Gard create a unique welcoming atmosphere. - Outside, as soon as the sun is up, the ta
The Castellas was certainly worth making a detour when the previous chef, Jérôme Nutile, was in charge.Nowadays the cuisine at a high level again. We have the impression prices went down from an unreasonable height last year to good value for money. The menus are excellent. The lunches formulas attractive

Something I am always looking for, simple perfect one man service and one lady in the kitchen. Not much appealing building and parking the size of hankerchief (a lerge one few steps from here). But inside nice patio under blossominh wistaria we found a top class french local cuisine. Wes tarted with Suze as aperitif, the lunch menu started with excellent green garlic soup (a large bowl of thick and fresh soup was given on the table). The starters were very inventive, foie gras entier was melting on the palate, for the main dishes we had young duck on oranges, veal on Muscat de Beaumes de Venise with rice and excellent tongue de boeuf with sauce from capari and little sour gherkins. Vegetable were large pieces or artichocs filled with fresn goat cheese and large round slices of tomate baked with green herbs. Local cheese were the next item , and desserts came in the end, baba au rhum was delicious, and home made ice sreams /mango and coconut, vanilla and anothe fruit I cannot remember). Really difficult to eat all. Local rosé and red wines, some coffees. All together approx 35 EUR per head. But please for full menu cont more than 2 hours. 5 stars with regard to rurality, do not expect haute suisine, but in the league a top example.

Our lodging host recommended this restaurant for a Monday night (restaurants in this area are closed several nights a week so check ahead and around!). We had a fantastic meal and enjoyed the food and service. That night we had the anchovy pesto, the poisson, a French "fish and chips" that night, the local cod dish (Balade de Moreu à aïoli), and a killer Gratin dauphin, super rich. The hostess was delightful and the server very engaging and helpful. The meal was delicious and a very good value; we ate another night at the place next door (outside seating; across the way restaurant) and paid as much for okay burgers. They do require reservations, so be sure to call ahead.

We had a nice romantic dinner in this former train station âLa petite gareâ which has been nicely redecorated. The terrace is next to the railway line which was discontinued (lovely big trees next to the railway route). The dishes are of somewhat varying quality but overall quite tasty. Service is good and friendly too. A nice spot for a romantic summertime dinner.
