Reviews on Mediterranean food in Verona, Province of Verona, Italy. So splendid was medieval Verona that its reputation alone inspired Shakespeare to set two plays here (Romeo and Juliet and The Two Gentlemen of Verona). Though its connection to the actual Capulets is tenuous at best, the so-called Juliet's House draws half a million tourists per year, many of them keen on reenacting the balcony scene. Don't miss the Roman amphitheater and the Palazzo Barberi.

Lovely spot in the center of Verona, just 50 meters from Piazza Erbe. Part of Doitbettergroup, who is a sinonymous of quality, service and historical restaurants in Verona. New concept of bistrot with traditional italian dishes with a fusion touch. You ca
This restaurant has a charming quiet courtyard with low light in the evening, ideal for a quiet meal for two. The service was efficient and friendly and the food was very good. An amuse- bouche of gazpacho was refreshing if a little bitter but the staters and mains especially the squid stuffed with cream cheese and pine nuts and the seared octopus were utterly delicious. The wine was well priced, too.

With its four rooms and cellar, the restaurant is the ideal setting for business dinner, weddings, and those special occasions where the personal touch and meticulous elegance are essential. For that extra special moment in your life, the Romeo and Juliet
We went to the restaurant based on TA reviews. It is a beautiful setting, Staff were excellent. Our starter of mushroom risotto with truffle was excellent, the lamb main course was also excellent and I was so looking forward to the chocolate souffle. Unfortunately when it arrived I was so disappointed to see a chocolate fondant. How a restaurant of this quality would intentionally list a souffle as a fondant amazes me. I would never have ordered the dish if I had have known as I love souffles and there are few restaurants brave enough to offer them as a dessert unfortunately this isnât one of them but I really hate being mis sold something I was so looking forward to. Portion size for all the dishes was very generous. I would have rated it higher if my dessert was as advertised.in English.

Italian Food, homemade pastas, the specialty is the meat (Chianina) cook on sight in the fireplace. Great for lunch and dinner, outdoor seating with Arena view. Accept reservations after concerts and Lyrical Opera.
Our first night in Verona we ate at La Griglia. One of us had the lamb cutlets and the other steak. Wow! The lamb was so tender and perfectly cooked. The steak was cooked with rock salt and rosemary and served rare as requested. It was one of the nicest steaks Iâve had. The service was very good and the wine selection excellent. We had a local red, which went perfectly our meal. It was lovely to sit outside on a warm evening.

Wherever else you eat in Verona, it will be a serious omission if you do not try Cafe Carducci. A small family run restaurant, the very friendly owners Stefano and Benadetta, along with the other chef, create masterpieces from their small kitchen. The wine list is extensive, especially with Amarones. Our group tried two during one of our meals there and agreed that the first bottle, reasonably priced as these things go, was the best Amarone we have ever tasted. Whatever else you order, if you do not have at least one plate of gnocchi with black truffles, you will forever regret it. Ethereal, light as clouds, I have eaten it twice and plan on having some again when my wife and I return in a few days for our 30th anniversary meal. One last suggestion-whatever else you have for dessert (and donât even think about passing on it), try the pastry that Benedetta bakes that tastes like a crisp crumbly coffee cake. Yummy. Go there soon. Enjoy. You will not be disappointed.

The restaurant looks very good in a good location. The staff is very kind and professional. Saturday night is full. Unfortunately, the best thing for me is the appetizer bread and cream cheese. I like the simplicity of Italian food. Sorry It must be something wrong with me I won't go there again.

We were disappointed with our visit to La Canonica. The room is lovely (although the bare wooden tables don't quite fit with the type of upmarket experience they are seeking to create). Service was impeccable, and the wine suggestions the sommmelier made were very good, and reasonably priced. The problem was the menu, and the food. The menu is constructed to steer you towards the degustation menus, at 55, 65 and 75 Euros respectively. Unfortunately we couldn't find a menu to suit all three of us, so we all had to go for the a la carte menu, where all dishes seemed to be around the 25 Euro mark. We ordered a starter and main each, and we all received two amuse bouche, bread and wafers, as well as a complimentary pre-desert and petit fours. No complaints about that, except that the food itself wasn't particularly distinguished. It certainly lacked the wow factor we'd expect at this price point. The best dish of the night was the veal cheeks, but that was more comfort food than fine dining. If the kitchen can lift their game this would be a great night out.

In the heart of Verona and in front of the wonderful cathedral of San Zeno, Giancarlo Perbellini presides over a remarkable new restaurant. This chef, the descendant of a dynasty of Veronese pastry chefs, has earned its longstanding international renown.
And more importantly my parents were over the moon (we celebrated my mothers 80 bd)They are not too found of snobbish places but this was really not-We were taken care of from the first minute to the last and to me the service was perfect! The food was to die for and I cannot think of any reason not to visit this fantastic place (apart from the cost of course) that said these kind of restaurant do not serve food it more works of artIf you have the means dont hesitate-this is a true gem

NOT FOR FAST FOODERS! Booking highly suggested. A credit card deposit can be requsted to confirm a booking.
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome, all the staff were lovely, the food was excellent and for the standard of food I thought the cost was good as for the same quality in England you would pay a lot more. Wish we could have stayed longer to have a drink with the owner as he wanted to have a drink with us for our anniversary what a lovely guy. Next time we will thanks!!

We went to Trattoria dal Taio after seeing it on TripAdvisor. It's a bit out of town and tricky to book (telephone reservations only) but it was AMAZING! The food was excellent, delicious and decent portions - both starters and mains. The meat is simply amazing, as was the pasta, and it's phenomenal value. The staff were a delight and couldn't have been more charming. An FYI for travellers - taxi companies (we used Radio Taxi Verona) seem not to take reservations so just call 10 minutes before you need one. The journey was about 20 Euros from town. The restaurant booked our return trip after we'd finished supper, which was helpful. Thoroughly recommended - and book in advance, as far ahead as you can!
