Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Urbino. Urbino (Italian: [urˈbiːno]; listen (help·info)) is a walled city in the Marche region of Italy, south-west of Pesaro, a World Heritage Site notable for a remarkable historical legacy of independent Renaissance culture, especially under the patronage of Federico da Montefeltro, duke of Urbino from 1444 to 1482. The town, nestled on a high sloping hillside, retains much of its picturesque medieval aspect. It hosts the University of Urbino, founded in 1506, and is the seat of the Archbishop of Urbino. Its best-known architectural piece is the Palazzo Ducale, rebuilt by Luciano Laurana.

As we came out of Palazzo Ducale we found Al Cantuccio nearby in a quite street side to the busy tourist sites. We ordered casciotto, typical cheese from Urbino served with tasty olives and cresca, local version of the classical piadina romagnola, both excellent! Service was good and the pizza we had with this was very tasty. Good choice for a quite lunch in a relaxing atmosphere terrace in Urbino center!

The restaurant has an interesting interior decoration with walls of books and sofas. There is also a garden/courtyard outside the restaurant, which is a real courtyard with grass ground and surrounded by residence buildings. The bread or pancake is surprisingly good (it seems like scallion pancake). It's an enjoyable place for lunch or short break during the day tour in Urbino.

This restaurant, like Urbino itself, deserves much greater patronage. The restaurant is in a beautiful location on a quiet street beneath the botanical garden. We had a wonderful outdoor dinner on a serene evening. I had the 3-course fish meal (tuna appetizer, shrimp linguine, and monkfish) which was totally fresh, innovative, and delicious. I could not believe that on a Friday midsummer evening there were only 2 other tables occupied.

The stuffed olives, some with meat and some with vegetables were incredible. The rabbit was the most tender and tasteful rabbit I have had in years, simply brilliant. Great staff, nice simple authentic environment, price was comparative with anywhere we have been. Great meal.

I've been to this place several times and I have to say that the location is great and the restaurant very roomy. Food is very good and tasty, especially pizza with burrata and culatello, but prices are a bit highDear lucadambro, thanks for the nice comment. The food cost is, by in large, in line with organic food production, and for sure the pizza price is roughly 10 euro .. not so expensive.so please come back to try the new summer menu.kind regards

The most fantastic restaurant serving traditional Italian food. The best meal we had in this area.
Unbeatable location in Urbino, in front of the Cathedral and near the Palazzo Ducale. We had a great starter with bread, local cheese (casciotta di Urbino) and truffle, then we took some pasta dishes with a nice glas of red wine. Quick service, correct pricing, excellent food, so we spent a good time in Urbino!

Small unassuming place that filled up fast with a nice wine selection by the glass, but not huge. The food is delicious that started with a complimentary cabbage soup, followed by a Sformata and a main course of deer with berry compote, polenta, carrots and veggies. They also gave me a complimentary dessert with panne cotta, jam and a mini biscotti which was heavenly. Very nice service and the owners hover around to make sure guests are happy.Tip: Make a reservation!

I wish I could try all the dishes because they all look awesome. It was a great meal from start to finish. The staff is incredible, very young and organized, did the best to answer all our questions and made great suggestions. The restaurante is cosy and familiar and does not have that gourmet uptightness
