The Orso Goloso has recently relocated from one end of the village of Trevignano Romano to the other, to more spacious premises which used to be occupied by The Charleston Pizzeria. There's a cosy interior with an open fire in winter and a lovely outside patio area behind the restaurant lit by candlelight in the evenings. The talented owner and chef Sandro provides an imaginative and well priced menu in both taste and presentation, living up to his well deserved reputation. We shared a starter of delicious zucchini flowers in batter and some crunchy whitebait with a delicate ginger flavoured dipping sauce. All served piping hot and not the least bit oily or heavy. We had the house wine which was very acceptable and modestly priced but they also have an excellent wine list from good Italian cantinas. Our main courses were truly impressive. An enormous fish soup with everything in it from huge prawns to small red mullets in a perfectly matured fish stock, certainly the equal of any we've had in a good French restaurant. A perfectly baked sea bass was stuffed with diced vegetables, wrapped and served like a giant caramel! The desserts were of the same high quality and presentation. We were waited on by Mons, an ebullient efficient waiter who just bursts with enthusiasm and speaks perfect English. A definite asset for this excellent restaurant. We shall return very soon!

This is a family owned restaurant outside of Trevignano Romano which provided us with one of the "lunches of our lives". The waterside location on Lago di Bracciano was fabulous as was the food and service. We were brought there by friends who live in the area and just loved it. The fried vegetables and calamari were incredible as was the ravioli, linguine with clam sauce and many other dishes we had. If you are ever in this area, I would highly recommend dining here. The total for 5 people who had everything from soup to nuts and two bottles of wine was 150 euro---so unbelievably reasonable for the quality and amount of food we had. Grazie Mille. We hope to return some day soon.

Went in the middle of last winter ( December 2015). Had a beautiful table overlooking the lake. We had the curries and the chichi with salsicca and pomodorro aswell as vegies, fried camembert and a greek salad.Food was fresh and unique.Definitely one of the best places I have eaten in the area.

We were there for lunch on a beautiful summer Tuesday. We asked whether they do a 'combination of 1st courses' as one of us wanted to sample 2 'primi', and were told 'yes, we can divide the dishes'. We ordered 2 halfs of first courses (two types of pasta), and a second, as well as a dish for a baby (pasta with tomato sauce). All the food was very tasty and the ingredients fresh and good, even the baby pasta. The orders were taken rather quickly, but it took 40min for the first plates (pastas) to arrive at the table. When it came to the bill, it turns out that the half-dish option we used inolves paying 80% of the entire dish -- i.e., a markup of more than 50%. i..e, you pay 9+Euro for half a dish when the full costs 11.5. Whether you enjoy paying these sums for 4 Ravioli is an open question. When we asked about this we were told this is due to the fact that preparing half dishes involves much of the effort of preparing a full dish, and that this was stated in the menu. If it was written, we couldn't find it, and in any case this should have been clarified while ordering. We probably won't come because of the sour taste this left.

Very cosy location in Trevignano Romano. A well-restored old cellar or depot or something. The athmosphere is relaxing, and the good service as well. The food is very tasty and full of spices and dressing (not for delicate stomachs). I had excellent ravioli with cheese and truffel. Paramount the dessert "crostata with ricotta and berries".Good wines. Fair and honest prices. Thanks for your feedback, it is always a pleasure to see that customers are satisfied with our food and location...La Tavernetta is a family restaurant since 1959, we try to give the best atmosphere/food experience possible, off course our beatiful Trevignano helps us a lot.Whenever you want we are there to give you a further confirmation. Thanks again,La Tavernetta

Excellent pizza, proper Italian pizza where the flavours of the tomatoes and basil and onions and olives sing through on the most delicious thin pizza base. Can take a little while to get the pizza if at restaurant before 9pm

This is one of many waterfront restaurants in lovely Trevignano Romano. Based on the good feedback and on its location we chose to have dinner here. It's nice to sit here by the lake in summer and enjoy some good meals. We had the Antipasti Platter, Fried Lake Fish, Ravioli (with Ricotta, Pistachio and Basil) and one liter of the white house wine. Tiramisu for dessert.And....everything was really tasty! Nice Antipasti with some Bruschetti, meat cuts, cheese, fried veggies. Fried Fish was plenty and very fresh. Very interesting the combination of ingredients in the Ravioli. But they matched perfectly. House wine was fine as well....especially for this price. The whole meal came together to just about 50 Euros. We really enjoyed our dinner here with the very friendly and helpful waiting staff. A good choice here in this lovely village. Surely would go back.Wanna know more about me and my trips? Sunday lunch, excellent food. wine, service and, I am reliably informed, the best desserts in the town. Excellent value the proprietor is attentive and cares about his customers. booking is advisable at weekend. This is not a criticism of the restaurant but they have a face book page (In my humble view a facebook page for a restaurant is as much use as a carpet fitters ladder) and it is evident they never look it. I tried to find when they were closed for the holidays and had to resort to walking into town and looking at a notice on the door, not good in this day and age. The restaurant is however as good as it gets.

The restaurant looks just up to "ok", some of the chair covers were stained. The waiters were unhelpful and clumsy. We were not offered a taste of the wine (which is a normal standard) and the bottle was just left on the table. The starters:Antipasto di terra consisted solely of few cured meat slices and a chilly jam to pair with god knows what. The sauteed mussels were just not fresh. The Mains:Fried shrimps were apparently good.Fried lake fish was horrible, if you know the different species you would have realized that two out of three were not what was written on the menu. The lowest bit was the batter, bright yellow, tasted like frittata, IF and I say IF it was handmade I heavily question by who and what training he/she has on cooking. We have never been asked if the food was ok.The prices are absolutely stellar high compared to what is served.Though but absolutely accurate.
