We had 2 pizzas here, one with ham and mushrooms and another one with grilled chicken, ham and bacon. They were great, you can feel the wooden touch and their ingredients are good. The service is very friendly and attentive. I learnt interesting facts about the village from them, such us why they have flat roofs when it snows a lot here. We loved the experience and we will come back.

On my last visit to El Jardin del Mirador some few years ago I had a wonderful experience and was a bit anxious as I walked into the beautiful shaded garden two weeks ago on realising there was a change of ownership. A new owner, a new experience and a very good one. Tasty tapas served by an attentive, cheerful and warm chef......I just had to return to celebrate my birthday the following week. No disappointment here. Delicious food and my impromptu 'birthday cake' was scrumptious and cleverly presented by Trani, the owner/chef. I would highly recommend visiting this oasis, if only once......

Great little family run restaurant, with lots and lots of character, situated in a couple of typical mountain village houses, tucked away in one of the back streets of Pampaneira. You can sit outside in a narrow street, in a covered passageway between the houses or inside. We sat in the passageway which meant we were still outside but out of the sun. We went for the steak. On the menu it said it was big but when it came it was huge, it almost filled the whole plate. We were glad we had decided to have it between us. We asked for it to be cooked medium, but when we cut into it, it was very rare, so we sent it back. When it came back it was still medium rare but we did not have the heart to send it back again as 'Nan' the cook and the rest of her family had been so friendly and nice. Its obvious that the Spanish don't like to overcook their meat.Lovely meat very tender with real baked potatoes with a thick well cooked skin.Staff were really friendly even though non of them except Nan spoke English. But we managed fine. Great experience, not the best meal we have ever eaten but certainly on of the nicest and interesting places we have eaten. Just one suggestion they need to provide steak knives as the meat was very difficult to cut with the knives provided. To find the Bodega Asador El Lagar - Go to the Main Square / Church, standing in front of the church door look to the left hand corner of the square. See a path leading downhill with water running down the centre and narrow cobblestone path on each side. Go down to the very bottom of this path, at bottom see sign to supermarket pointing left, you turn right, go up a narrow street, the Bodega Asador is up this street on your right.

The pizzas had lovely thin crusts and a good section of toppings available. Local wine was served by the glass. The waitress spoke no English which was a nice change and she cooed with our broken Spanish with a smile. Restaurant was very welcoming and had a nice family feel about it.

We decided to head to this restaurant based on precious reviews on tripadvisor and we certainly weren't disappointed. We were warmly greeted on entry and bar another couple we had the place to ourselves. The extremely friendly owner/cook provided us with a menu in English.Once we had decided on our wine (a teapot good choice of red and white) we moved to the food menu We decided on a starter to share of pheasant and truffle pate with some olive tapenad. We had a choice of bread or toast We weren't disappointed on the choice packed full of flavour we eagerly looked forward to mains.Mains again we decoded to share.... A casserole of white beans with chorizo and black pudding sausage with potatoes Really rustic but so packed with flavour....it was fantastic For desert we had a warm apple pie with sweet almond top.. Again beautiful and served with a complimentary liquor with complemented the taste. With 2 glasses of wine each we paid 49 Euro and was so worth it... Delicious rustic food served expertly and personably. As we left we were the only ones there.... We couldn't believee it.....such lovely food location and cost.... If in Capeleria make this a must...

We stumbled across this restaurant after walking the town and decided to have lunch, it just happens to have numerous Michelin stars. The atmosphere sitting out on the terrace is gorgeous and the staff extremely attentive and friendly. We ordered grande cerveza and were served a delicious tapas to share. We ordered mains and both were incredible. I had a salmon fillet and my partner meat balls. The servings were judge and the flavours and herbs in each meal could be individually tasted and enjoyed. The food was fresh and incredible. I wish I could have fit in desert. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

L'Atelier is a small vegetarian restaurant in a very old house of Mecina Fondales, a typical whitewashed village of the Alpujarras. The house offers 2 guest rooms. We cook fresh organic local products we get from nearby small orchards. Brigitte offers dis
Tiny vegetarian restaurant - great food, lovely service. They have a handful of tables on the street and I guess some more space inside. We had a great seaweed salad. In additional to a regular menu of drinks they also have Kombucha and Kefir drinks.

We had lunch in Meson Joaquin during our trip through the Alpujarras. A very friendly woman welcomed us to our table and was very helpful in picking the right dishes from the menu. Starters were great (iberico ham, chorizo, garlic soup & croquetas de jamon) and also the mains were very very good (rabbit with garlic, tenderloin steak, chicken with jamon & the alpujarras mixed platter). The rabbit was crushed which made it a bit difficult to eat but other then that we all liked the food a lot. I would especially like to recommend their morcilla (blood sausage) which was exceptionally good. All in all a very good lunch, would recommend it to anyone.

Driving through the national park of Sierra Nevada we stopped in the town of Trevelez as it is renowned for its Jambon. We heard of this traditional restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the traditional food on offer. A wide range of options were available, we chose to have the host, rabbit and pork traditional style. It was amazing country-style home cooking which was amazing. The views were amazing as well. We had a bottle of the restaurant produced red wine which went perfectly with the meal. A must stop if in the lovely town of Trevelez!
