Nothing brilliant, but more than satisfactory. My chicken kebabs were very good and a big serving. Enjoyed the salad, to. My wife's chicken tajine had a lot of meat, but could have used some potatoes. Great location with a fine view of the square at evening. Amazed by another reviewers comment that it was "touristy". There aren't enough tourists in Taroudant to make ANY place touristy,, and 95% of the customers when we were there were locals.
Located in walking distance of everywhere in the town, this was a perfect place to stay to explore Taroudant. It has character and charm, a resident cat and tortoise (friendly and well behaved) and wonderful roof terrace where we sat sometimes to relax and enjoy the sun. Our room was spacious and comfortable though the water was tepid (not good in February!) Breakfast was typical - fresh orange juice then lots of bread/pancakes/cheese etc to fill you up before a day's walking. The evening meals were some of the best we have had in Morocco. I asked for fish one night and they did a delicious fish tagine with vegetables. Friendly helpful staff.

Set on the edge of the busiest part of town it was a great place to 'people watch'. A limited menu prepared & presented well, at prices that will suit the most modest of budgets is Yasmina's strenght. Couscous, grilled Turkey skewers, Tagine etc. Good portions, good coffee & beautiful juices freshly squeezed. Polite, efficient service. We ate there twice, our first visit being so pleasant. When it came to paying the bill, the menu was re-presented so we could check that all was above board. Nice touch. Starter, main, juice, coffee by two came to a staggering â¬8 in total (not including a very well deserved tip.) And for the cynical among us; the answer is no, no bad after effects in the digestion department! No Michelin stars but highly recommended.
We live much of the year in Sidi Ifni where there are few restaurant options, so it is a pleasure to welcome Ilel Seafood to our community. The food is fresh and attractively served. Both my husband and I went for grilled seafood: calamar for me and fish of the day for my husband. Portions are healthy, presented on slate plates with a side of vegetables, a welcome change from the omnipresent frites in Morocco. Service was friendly and efficient and our food arrived in good time, unlike at other local places where service is often exceedingly slow. We started with Moroccan salad which here is a mixed salad of tomato, cucumber and lettuce rather than the usual finely chopped salad. The dressing was a simple oil and vinegar which was better than the commercial bottled dressings served often in Morocco. We will go again.
We three are travelling off tourist season beginning of November) and it seems that most restaurants and even some hotels are closed. The Agence restaurant was closed so we decided on trying a pretty garden we had seen on our travels. It ended up being already on TA's books with good reviews so we chose to eat last night there. We were not disappointed! The garden is under canopies so kept the rain off. A fairly loud large tv was blairing the sports channel in the corner so we sat in the opposite corner by the (well used) prayer mat.The menu looked plain with the basics but at good prices. We need not have worried! We ordered a half chicken, mixed meat combi and a sausages with mixed and Moroccan salads too accompany (specifying sausages salad without tomatoes).Unfortunately because (maybe it was off season) at the end of the evening a whole page of menu was off, including the tagines (previously lauded in TA). A pity. An excuse to come earlier the next day though! The food came in good time and was very generous for the price! A compartmentalised plate with the meat, salad on one section and thin crispy potato chips on another! Advocacy and banana juices to accompany. The food was very tasty (sausages in a spicy cumin dry sauce) and the selection of grilled meats was great. The chicken was good too. On finishing we totted up the bill in our heads to 150 plus tips. It turned out the meals included the meats and salad so 20 (sos), 30 (mixed), 50 (chick), 3 x12 juices (big!) was MAD136! We rounded up for the attentive waiter's tips. No rip off here!No hasslers either here btw as off the road and main squares.Excellent.
Stopped here as part of a small tour group visiting Taroudant. Great relaxing place - a few lovely curtained and furnished Bedouin tents in the grounds. Would have been good to have gone back for lunch there and given that a try. Lovely staff .

Mohammed makes any traveller over the Tizi n Teste pass a warm welcome with mint tea, but don't leave without tasting his Berber omelette and Moroccan salad. This restaurant also has accommodation for the more hardy. It is very high on top of an escarpment looking out over the plains below. The views are stunning. The hotel/restaurant is 135km from Marrakech and 87km from Taroudant.

The Jnane Soussia Restaurant is located just outside the old city walls of Taroudant, surrounded by a semi-oasis. This is a very relaxed atmosphere restaurant that seems to be very traditional Moroccan styled. The restaurant is surround by an abundance of landscaping including date palms, many fruit trees, etc. There are two nice pools in the center of the open terrace. Plus there are two old âtentâ looking dining areas which seem to be very artistic; authentic and very pleasing to the eye. There food is good, very authentic Moroccan in taste and flavor. Too much cuscus for my pallet. The service is good. Being this is a restaurant and not connected to a hotel they are not allowed to serve alcohol or alcoholic beverages. All-in-all it was a very pleasant afternoon lunch.

Dar Zitoune propose a blend of European and Moroccan dishes. Lunch is a menu à la carte, as far as dinner is concerned its a set menu with vegetarian options. The finest food to be found in the entire region. The meals are served in the dinning room , pri
I have reviewed the restaurant a number of times now and my opinion does not change. The food is of the highest standard, well cooked and presented, served with efficiency. It was nice to see our favourites appearing on the menu especially paella and a wonderful pineapple carpaccio with shrimps. On our two weeks stay we do not eat outside the hotel . When we are getting the best why risk anywhere else.
