Reviews on Mediterranean food in Szombathely, Western Transdanubia, Hungary. Szombathely (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈsombɒthɛj]; see also other alternative names) is the 10th largest city in Hungary. It is the administrative centre of Vas county in the west of the country, located near the border with Austria. Szombathely lies by the streams Perint and Gyöngyös (literally "pearly"), where the Alpokalja (Lower Alps) mountains meet the Little Hungarian Plain. The oldest city in Hungary, it is known as the birthplace of Saint Martin of Tours.

Very fancy place, quick service, kind ans supportive waitors.Tha ham tapas was a nice surprise, its quality is better than expected. The curry risotto and the pork medallions are very good, but after the salty ham tapas we had to use a lot of salt in order to reach the same effect. They can offer sugar free panna cotta, I very appreciated that. The price is correct.Try the place, I do believe you will love it.

Very nice restaurant in Szombathely! They do serve pizza's but defnitiely a lot of other dishes of meat and fish, cooked italian style. The Chef presenting the meat he has for you... it looked awesome.. there is no way back... and he cooks it exactly the way you like it. Nice, helpfull staff ... Wow, was very good. Definitely come back here.

I echo the previous reviewer (in Hungarian): food is great here and their opening hours are quite long and flexible. This is the best pizza in town. Ciao Amico was the first pizzeria to open in Szombathely, they learnt the tradition from Italian chefs that time and haven't really changed a thing since then, so you know you get the same pizza you always got, no unpleasant surprises.Other meals are also great, I recommend their lasagne.Only negative thing I would mention is that their staff is a bit elderly so they are not the most cheerful waiters you will ever meet, but nothing to do but get over it, they are not mean just burnt out I guess.I would also love to see some renovation happening but this does not bother me much as I usually go in warm weather when their pleasant terrace is open.
