Sosua is everything you want a beach town to be. Clear waters teem with coral, perfect for snorkeling and diving. Above sea level you’ll find multicolored sands lined with beach shacks. This small enclave of the Dominican Republic was once a haven for Jewish refugees. Historic sites and synagogues offer great perspective on Sosua’s postwar identity. On a lighter note, a community of ex-pats helps fuel a boisterous, international nightlife scene.

It's got good food, but it's got the Dominican standard of cheap plastic tables and chairs, and it's clean enough, but not as clean as it could be. But if you don't care about decor, the service is good, and the menu is varied and cheap.

Baia offers the complimentary full breakfast, the main course following a fruit platter and a pastry basket. Lunch and dinner are both served. Great fish which you can witness being brought to the restaurant by local fisherman. Something for everything pizza, mozzarella selection, lobster, excellent piece of sirloin. Good cocktails and a fairly priced wine selection

Ours is a small Italian restaurant located in the center of Sosua only a few steps from the sea. We offer Italian cuisine and some typical of our region of origin, Campania. Our strengths are the quality of products and the prices very low.
We found this place following the good reviews on here and it was a great place for a Italian lunch. The prices were extremely good together with a good quality of the food. The guys are extremely friendly and we had really good time. We went there a couple of time during our vacation. Only negative thing the place is quite small so can be crowded sometimes.Good morning. We are glad you enjoyed our food and our services. Our company policy, leads us to keep the prices contained. We hope to have you back as our welcomed guest. The place is, indeed, a little bit, but we are trying to maximize it.EL PANZEROTTO STAFF

I was in Sosua again this year. The place is still there and still excellent. Nothing much has changed from my previous review. Jeff is still there, but they other guys moved on. They got a new guy, John. Still a very friendly stuff, and the food is excellent quality and preparation. Highly recommend.

I have given Osteria Toscana rapturous reviews in the past, and after not having been there for some time, I decided it would be fun to go there again. I am very, very sad to say that the quality, ambience, and service of the restaurant are greatly degraded since my last visit. The menu has not changed AT ALL in over 3 years. Even the specials are always the same. The only change is the addition of the pizza oven, but my two experiences with pizza were not good, and I really wanted to treat myself to a very nice meal, as Osteria Toscana is a little pricier than other Sosua restaurants. (Which all seem to be Italian, but that's another story.)There was one other table where guests were having dessert and no other customers in the establishment. I said good evening to the wait staff when I arrived so they would know they had a customer. I waited 10 minutes before a waitress came over and immediately asked me if I wanted a drink. I told her that I would like to see a menu first. It took 3 tries to get an ashtray. I ordered gnocchi, which was acceptable; a little gummy, not as fluffy and airy as I remembered, but certainly tasty and a very large portion. The terrace no longer has the pretty fairy lights that I remembered; maybe they were ruined in a storm, maybe the electric bill was too high. But the terrace is in no way memorable or charming---just tables and chairs (with sort of ugly brown tablecloths with beige napkins), a few plants, and not quite enough light.Halfway through the service, the radio (it wasn't Spotify) was turned on at a very loud volume. I did not receive a plate of focaccia, and I thought it had been discontinued, but then I noted that the two other tables that came in after I did had received it. Oh well. The waitress then made five trips to clear a table for two, without casting a single glance in my direction. I finally had to do the dreaded "ssssssss" to get her attention. It feels really rude to me, but it's the only thing that works. I then waited a long time for the check, and then waited so long for her to return that I finally just got up and brought it to the bar myself. The clincher, however, was when a cook? waiter? a man, wearing a sleeveless t-shirt sauntered through the dining area with a large tray of bread rounds, ostensibly to char them in the pizza oven. However---and apart from I don't need to see an old guy in a wife beater that was none too clean strolling through the dining area---he carried this tray of bread rounds with a cigarette dangling from his mouth.Perhaps the restaurant has changed ownership. I don't know. I did not see Alessio, the Italian chef who was there all the time once upon a time. There was no offer of a complimentary Mamajuana or limoncello, and I wouldn't have had it anyway, because I just wanted to get out as fast as I could.I am always sorry to write a less than stellar review because I know how difficult it is to keep a restaurant open in Sosua. In this case, though, I really feel it's a case of CAVEAT EMPTOR!I am sorry if you don t like ...there are many restaurant in sosua....all better then osteria ......perfect for you....the old owner is died ....a kiss
