Malathra is a traditional family run Resturant with amazing views and locally sourced ingredients . We accommodate large groups and also functions, we can offer inside and outside seating area overlooking the beautiful views of Kalloni bay.
We went here on a public holiday, when the Greeks celebrate their refusal to let Italians pass through their country during WW11. After a rousing celebratory march through Kalloni, complete with music, we ended up in this restaurant about 9km outside the town. The place was packed to the hilt, with every table filled. It was noisy, smokey, kids were playing round the tables, and people were jammed into every table. It was a good thing we had booked. We had several starters, including the delicious Malathra special salad. A melted cheese shell encasing strips of chicken in a vinaigrette sauce on top of crunchy red and white cabbage. The mains were marinated fish, spinach in a white sauce rolled in pancakes, cuttle fish, various grilled mixed meats, large sirloin steak, cheese and aubergine balls, and deep fried battered fish. The restaurant setting is beautiful, set up overlooking the sea, amidst gorgeous gardens. This would make an ideal venue for a wedding or other special occasion, where photos would look spectacular in this wonderful place. For a special occasion, this is hard to beat.
The taverna is called Seaside and is on the beachfront in Anaxos. The owner is called Charlie and the restaurant has been mentioned in a number of reviews but doesn't have it's own page yet!
Been going to this taverna for years now. Charlies has his good days & bad days but he is a lovely chappie.Food was very good this year, enjoyed all that we had.Sardines & white bait for lunch with salad.Greek plate with wine for 2 in the evening was fantastic & only 18 euros, you cant eat out in England for that & sit & watch the sun go down over the sea.

Restaurant Marina is very nice situated next to the sea on the Boulevard of Petra. Michali, the owner of the restaurant and also the Chef, is well known by his traditional Greek dishes, Mezes, every day diferent choices of fresh fish and fantastic food on
Ate here three nights out of seven. The food was good, typical Greek with pasta dishes etc thrown in. On one occasion we had the fish meze which was excellent. A good selection of fishes (sardines, anchovies, red mullet, octopus, kalamari, fresh tuna are the ones I remember, there were more) with salad, potoatoes and rice. All for the grand sum of â¬11 each. One of the freshest, most delicious meals I've ever had in Greece. The only downside, had Dolmades one night and they were a little tough. But that's the only complaint I have! The service was very friendly, the owner is a lovely man. At the end of each meal was complimentary fruit or yoghurt and honey.Price wise, we paid between â¬30 and â¬35 each night for two starters, two mains, half litre local wine and a couple of cokes, so very reasonable. The restaurant is right on the water front, just the road in between it and the sea so lovely views as the sun sets.

We went to this little cafe off the main square in Skala. It is a traditional place situated next door to the family owned shop which sells souvenirs and household goods and British newspapers. There's just a few tables and the lady serving the food prepares and cooks everything herself. We asked for Lamb kleftiko and she said it would take 24 hours to prepare as it has to be marinated then cooked slowly in the oven for hours in parchment paper. So we went back the next day to savour this delicacy. We were not disappointed and enjoyed a lovely meal with slow cooked lamb, carrots, onion and potatoes all in encased in parchment, which upon opening oozed delicious aromas and juices! The lady owner and her daughter, who speaks good English were on hand to attend to us throughout the meal with smiles. A very enjoyable evening!

I ate here today with my daughter and her partner. We ate a feast of the delights of the ocean caught, for the most part right outside the restaurant. Not to forget the importance of the accompaniment of Greek Salad, dolmades, fried cheese, alongside the stuffed squid, whole fish ( they take out the bones for you), prawns and stuffed zucchini flowers. And yes it required time to respect this delicious food and truly appreciate the beauty of the perfect Greek lunch.

Went here a couple of times, very friendly waiters. Had spaghetti carbonara on the first occasion, it was loaded with cream but very tasty. On my second visit I had beef stifado, it looked like shredded beef not like the beef chunks Iâve previously experienced and loads of onions. There was no potato with the meal. I donât know whether or not it was because Iâm unused to the food but it gave me a dodgy stomach - didnât go back again!

Been there a few times, the menu is very extensive with plenty of options from pizzas to seafood, and is very very tasty as everything is freshly prepared. The prices are very reasonable for the portions you get and staff is very friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

Nice looking and busy restaurant but overrated. I had pork (not lamb) kleftiko, as did a gentleman behind me. The gentlemanâs food arrived before mine and when he unwrapped it, we could smell it at our table, it smelt delicious.Mine arrived shortly after but didnât have much of an aroma. Whilst mine was immediately edible, the gentlemanâs food was clearly much much hotter. In hindsight I should have asked mine to be put back in the oven for it to cook longer.Didnât have any problems later on but I took a big chance , especially being a pork meal.Didnât go back again and found much better restaurants nearby.
