We were shopping in the shopping centre and we wanted to have lunch. We decided to stop in Tanit restaurant.Pleased they have gluten free options safe for celiacs. We had gluten free see food pasta, and 2 cotololette (fried, breaded pork) with chips and salad. The portion were really big and food was very tasty. They use a particular way to fry so our food wasn't heavy at all. We were very impressed.Other people around us were having pizzas and they look amazing. In the evening they do pizzas night, but I haven't had chance to go. The staff is amazing and this what makes the restaurant what it is.They are extremely helpful and attentive. They look after you like you are a member of the family. I guess it's the Sardinian way to look after everyone.Well done guys and thank you so much for making us feel so special. Thanks a lot for kindly word using describing us and our restaurant service.

In Sassari for work. Had chosen Hotel Vittorio Emanuele also for the restaurant but it was closed.Out for a wander and came across Taberna Santona. Checked trip and that was enough for me. I'd encourage all who follow on trip to read between the lines (and lies). If you're out for work then a family place is not for you. So, reviewers, let's be objective! As for Taberna Santona; If you want the usual choice, go elsewhere. If you want to enjoy genuine fare, prepared proudly by the host, Mr. Santona, who i must say (again personal taste)ois far from invasive, but justifiably present, then it's a place for you.I was lucky. Had i arrived an hour later then no way would i have found a table. And when all those in here are local you know you're on to a winner. No menu inside, i know this puts many people off, but i was told what was on offer. Water and wine arrived as they should, no sense of wanting to move me on quickly. To note: the wine is vfm ( bovale) not the rubbish you get most places which will leave you suffering the day after.I'm a big fan of onion soup and often prepare it at home, and this was special. The only problem was the delicious cheese dribbling off my chin.Having seen what else was on offer, as i said, less is more, i asked for half portions of tagliera of cheese and local smoked meats and 'drunk sheep'. Some places would be awkward, but here no problem at all.Taberna Santoro is real. They dont need the publicity. Get there early and enjoy top food and a great atmosphere, I am!

Specialty food shop, deli/cheese shop and not just typical Italian ... with corner dedicated to the tasting of our gourmet sandwiches and small chopping sweet tooth.
Great selection of food and delicatessen, great atmosphere and absolute kindness from the owner Massimiliano who will guide you through product selection. A must try if you are in Sassari.

Great restaurant in every aspect: interior, food, drinks and staff! A great food experience with amazing gastronomic antipasti and perfectly cooked fish and seafood either just grilled or with pasta. Staff will accommodate to your desire, allergens and tastes. They will also give great wine advice and offer a nice digestive at the end. To absolutely try if you are around ! Plus it is very quiet at lunch time for a nice Italian style break from the daily busy life!

Our restaurant is located in a street in the old town of Sassari. First pasta dishes with a huge choice, second dishes of meat or fish and salad, dishes for vegetarians and not. Mediterranean
Wow...what a place. If you like pasta, if you like good local wine..go here. Super friendly staff, amazing quality food and drinks. Cannot recommend it more. Gutted we found it on our last night. Non Facciamo Apertura Doppo Mezza Notte.la Cuccina Chiude 22,45.
We had lunch at this place and truly liked it. Good quality food and the fixed price menu at 20 euros per person consisted of 4 courses. Please note, seafood focussed restaurant. Starter was aubergine with swordfish, pasta with grouper and swordfish filet with young potato slices. Dessert chocolate semifreddo with pear. Our daughter ate a superbly cooked thin sliced entrecôte. It was very quiet on this Friday, plenty of space. Just outside the main drags of the city centre but very close to the underground car park Emiclicio Garibaldi.

Offerta di prodotti stagionali con ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.La nostra cucina si basa su un menù in prevalenza di pesce non tralasciando le pietanze di terra della nostra Regione.
Popular local restaurant with very good food. The downside was that we ate in solitary splendour downstairs while all the action and fun was in the main restaurant upstairs. A shame as the downstairs room is nicely decorated and atmospheric. The service was excellent, the wine list really good and all the dishes we ordered were delicious, with one exception. One of us ordered a steak which was vast and very chewy and he could not eat it. However this was noticed by the staff and, although we said nothing, a reduction was made on the bill, for which we applaud them.

A stupendous dining experience. I chose to dine at Il Giamaranto because other fine Tripadvisor reviews said it was the best place to enjoy seafood. I was not disappointed. The last time I had such a fine seafood meal was a year earlier when I explored the Greek islands. I feasted on a starter of mussels and clams, the mussels were good, but the clams were the best I ever had. The main, suggested by the waiter, was a trio of seafood: Mullet plus shrimp plus squid. The mullet was fine, but the shrimp were outstandingly sweet while the squid had superb flavor.

Everything is fresh and reinvented with a modern approach. Starting with the unusual raw swordfish garnished with olive oil, strawberries & radish to the terrific fresh tagliolini with prawns & cherry tomatoes. Wide range of fresh desserts also featuring a peach tiramisu', cherry cheesecake and a special Sardinian cannolo made with fried carasau bread and abbamele.Starters are a bit pricey but you would miss a number of tasty plates such as octopus salad, snails in tomato sauce, a couple of carpaccios. Forget Sardinian menus filled with frozen bland ingredients, this trattoria uses local fresh produce only. The experiment is quite successful and you won't find such bold cuisine anywhere else in Northern Sardinia.
