We were invited to lunch by an old college friend who had been judge in Laredo and now lives in Santander. In previous visits to Spain we visited him and his wife in Santander and eaten at the Nautico there. No comparison. The Laredo version is a couple of notches upscale in qualify of food and service. This time enjoying the view of the estuary of Santona Bay. We chose the fabes (buttery large beans from Asturias) with clams and the generous portions of turbot grilled to perfection. That washed down with a good Albarino was a perfect combination. Less satisfying was the cheese- based "cuajada" dessert. It is unclear whether the restaurant is open to non-members, but if it is, make the effort to visit it where on top of everything there is plenty of parking and its extensive grounds invite to remain there to watch stunning sunsets. The restaurant has the reputation of being the best in Laredo.
Specialty in Santoña anchovies have different brands, cold cuts, cheese, mussels in brine, and much more. come and discover it yourself!

Restaurante bar de ambiente marinero y cosmopolita. Especialidad en pescados y mariscos frescos del Cantábrico. Carnes de Cantabria (de vaca Tudanca) . Amplia carta de vinos. Terraza cubierta.
After a walk around Laredo and discovering The Tunnel we found this bar which really appealed to me due to it's quirky decorations. We called in for a beer and a few pintxos and we found them to be excellent. I'd like to return to try some more of their food as it looked delicious!Gracias por su visita!! un saludo

We went there last week, place buzzing with activity. There were certain dishes that were recommended and, true to form, worth the visit: croquettes and their special burgers.....I recommend you book in advance.

Nueva gerencia en este emblemático restaurante de el casco viejo de Laredo desde el 1 de Marzo de 2018.
Nice, friendly restaurant with plenty of offerings for big and small patrons. Our 2 kids were not in the mood for lunch before we went in but they cleared their plates and got a lollipop for their efforts - thumbs up !!!

Italian taste at Laredo. If you are a pasta lover, Chiarissimo is your favorite place to eat in Laredo (Cantabria).
This is my first rating on TripAdvisor but the food was so good that I have to write it down and tell the world (and Laredo visitors)Yesterday we went for dinner in Laredo. We found this little restaurant which serves great Italian food. The welcoming was warm and nice, the owners even speak some English. There was an English menu. We started with garlic flatbread which was very delicious. We then had two types of homemade pasta. The kitchen is a little bit open so I could see how it was made and the fresh ingredients were added to our meal. The saddest thing is that we were to full to try a dessert and that we didn't try the pizza, which presumably is also very tasty. Thanks a lot, Silke. We are glad that you enjoyed our pasta, another day you can try the pizzas. We will wait for you !

Specialties from Cantabria (Rice)
We didn't know the place but followed Tripadvisor's advice and it was really worth it! The fish was fresh and delicious, the rice excellent and the dessert a real treat. Do book a table there for the experience! Really cosy and clean. Excellent service. We even congratulated the cook. Ideal for couples and romantic dates as well!

If you're in the area and want some super quality fresh fish, this is the place. We enjoyed a lovely walk seeing the old forts and enjoying some great views. Took a chance on this place on the way past, were rewarded greatly. Perfectly barbecued fresh fish. So tasty. Best I've had. Would highly recommend.

The pinchos here are outstanding! So fresh and tasty you must visit if you are in the area. By far the freshest pinchos of our trip and we tried a lot!! This made our day complete after a morning at the beautiful beach. Santoña is a great place to visit when in the area, we loved it.

This was a random stop on our drive and we were excited to have a break in a town famous for anchovies. The staff at this restaurant didn't speak english but were friendly. I ordered something from the menu del dia, without really knowing what it would be and was super happy to receive an appetizer of cod and chick pea stew and a main course of grilled flounder. It was all very fresh and delicious. The meal was generous and could have fed 2 hungry people.
