A colleague and I recently had a pleasant dinner at Officina del Mare. This beautifully decorated restaurant once was a horse stable many years ago. No expense was spared in taking the unique arched architecture and turning it into an upscale restaurant. Tables were set with quality linens and the service ware (plates, silverware, glasses) was top quality. Soft indirect lighting was effectively utilized to highlight the decor.Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the owners and operators of Officina del Mare. Two brothers work the dining room and the third is back in the kitchen working with the Sicilian chef. The menu is only in Italian; however, Luca's English was helpful in translating and describing proposals on the menu. Luca suggested going with only two courses, as a full three-course meal would be too much food in his opinion. He was right.I broke two of my standard rules of dining on Mondays; never eat seafood because Italian fishermen rest on Sundays and the fish you do get is most likely left over from Saturday. The other rule I tend to follow is to never eat seafood at land-locked restaurants. The last I checked, there was no sea bordering Brescia. Nevertheless, the seafood at Officina del Mare was very fresh, proving that my rules can be broken from time to time.We started by sharing the Ciotoline Siciliane; an assortment of various creatively prepared seafood tasters from Sicilian cuisine. All were very good with the exception of the octopus, which I found to be quite tough to the bite. We also shared a portion of Soute Misto, a combination of sautéed Razor Clams, Cockles and another type of clam. This was delivered at the same time as the Ciotoline Siciliane and became very cold by the time we got to eat the dish. For an entree, I had the Zuppa di Pesce (fisherman's stew) that was served on a richly flavored broth, all cleaned and de-boned. There were baby scampi, jumbo shrimp, red shrimp, octopus, calamari and assorted pieces of fresh fish of the day. The dish was excellent, with the exception of the tough octopus. My colleague enjoyed a fillet of Sea Bass prepared the Sicilian way, with tomatoes, olives and capers. The meal was quite relaxing and peaceful as Officina del Mare was not crowded with diners on a Monday evening. Service was top notch and very attentive. Prices were on the high side, though the quality of seafood coupled with the chef's talents warranted such pricing. Our meal above, plus one dessert, two glasses of wine, water and a grappa totaled 120 euros. Officina del Mare is an ideal restaurant for romantic dinners, business meals and special occasions.

Writing in English to allow our international guest to enjoy a real Pugliese dinner once you are around Brescia, but even if you are at the Garda lake: the trip (30min drive) is worthy.I have no doubt what so ever that everyone will enjoy the variety and quality of the excellent food: various cold and warm starters (leave the owner to choose for you), excellent 'primi piatti' and I would suggest sea food for main. They will only cook what is fresh and available the day you are in.Small, few tables, cosy need reservation.Friendly and warmly welcoming you as only Pugliesi people can do !!!

The waiting time was long, but it wasn't even a full house. The space itself is decorated nicely, the staff is charming. We had pizzas, they were nice, but not the real Neapolitan pizza as expected. However , you can grab a decent bite there if you find yourself passing by!

My wife and I were Dinner guest of a Cousin living in Rezzato to-night. Good Prosciutto and Bufala, (a start which we shared), served with nice toast. Followed by a lovely See-food Risotto for two and a good Gorgonzola Pizza for the third person in the party. The staff were all pleasant and accommodating and the place was buzzing for a Friday night.

Nice little restaurant; serves mostly seafood. Everything we tasted was well prepared and presented. Staff is really kind (the served me twice of each wine, although just one glass of wine per course was included in the menu). Table are nicely decorated. I just would suggest to pay more attention to bread (not up to the situation) and desserts.

What a beautiful evening here having pizza. I was nicely greeted and chose to sit in the outdoor section. I ordered the Neapolitan style ham pizza (Crudo di Parma). The cornicione had a perfect bread ratio to airy pockets inside. The cheese was locally sourced. I personally prefer the "bite" of a bufala cheese but the pizza cheese they used (burrata and fiordilatte) was fresh and the mellow taste of it paired well with the ham. My server was very pleasant and made sure everything was good with my meal.

I've been here twice and both times have been pleasant experiences. The restaurant is housed inside a rebuilt old farmhouse, with rustic details and a finely preserved atmosphere. The food is carefully researched and based on traditional local dishes, but with interesting innovations: there's definitely a passion behind their preparations that comes through. We chatted with the chef about his food on one occasion and he was more than happy to explain his culinary choices. Very good selection of local wines as well, especially from the nearby wonderful Franciacorta area. The staff is up to the task and quietly polite. It's not the easiest restauarant to find, but it's definitely worth looking for.
