This is a review with definitely mixed feelings. On one hand you have an absolutely friendly and efficient staff in a nicely designed place - unfortunately without noise-absorption panels - and on the other hand the food is not really at the level of the provided service.Actually the shrimps (starter) tasted 'nothing'. If you would close your eyes you would not know what you are eating. The steak was served well-done but ordered medium-rare and the french fries were not enough cooked. We complained and received immediately a new steak with additional well cooked french fries. Excellent reaction and service. The other dishes such as the risotto and fish were rated very good by my Portuguese friends. The desserts were typically Portuguese. Very sweet and heavy.Just to notice, they don't have mayonnaise. (Yes; tourists need mayonnaise with fries).Actually the only really bad point (and this was a major issue) is that when we arrived it was smelling heavily cleaning products which was really very unpleasant. Maybe cleaning the place after the lunch service would be helpful so that the smell is gone until dinner time. All in one it was somehow an OK experience (my Portuguese friends liked the place and food), but in my personal view unfortunately not necessarily to be repeated. Mainly because of the cleaning product smell - took away all my appetite - and the lack of taste of the shrimps.

August Open Tuesday to Saturday from 11h00 to 22h30
After a tour on the river we took the opportunity to come here. We were not disappointed. The host was knowledgeable about all the locally sourced food.We drank craft beer and recommended wine. It was all absolutely delicious, the tuna was so beautifully cooked and the cheese and meat platter was delicious and gave you a real taste of Português cuisine.I cannot recommend this place enough, it is definitely worth the trip.Derek from Glasgow

This is a great regional restaurant. The staff is polite. The restaurant is a little bit noisy. Many locals choose this restaurant to dinner or lunch, so, if possible, book first.

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, we had no intention of eating here. But on a rainy afternoon the restaurant we wanted to eat in was closed and the Mesa was right next door so.....we hesitantly decided to have lunch. We were ushered upstairs to a lovely. Cozy spot by a very gracious young lady. Soup, salad, wine...all were superb along with the attentive service. It was so good that we returned the next night for dinner which was outstanding.

We booked a special family lunch for 12 people. First the decor is just gorgeous! The food was brilliant, traditional food but with a lovely modern twist! Could not fault anything, it was absolutely amazing! Very tasty and beautifully presented from start to finish. We even asked for a special cake to be made for the occasion and that didn't seem to bother them any bit, the cake was amazing!Easily the best restaurant in Portugal.Thank you so much for being so accommodating with everything and for making our day so special. The staff was very attentive and very friendly.

We are here whilst staying at the nearby pousada and it is a fantastic neighbourhood restaurant serving good local food. There is an extensive menu, all in Portuguese but one of the waiters kindly translated it for us. When we visited the place was full of local regulars which is always a good sign. There are a number of speciality meat and fish dishes all at very reasonable prices. I don't know how they do it for the money. If you want authentic Portuguese food with a great atmosphere then you will love eating here.

Visited this small restaurant, which also has an adjoining cafe, whilst staying at the adjacent Palace Hotel. The staff were excellent and very informative. We shared Tempura prawns as a starter and had the Monkfish and Salmon with Clams as main courses. Neither had any veg with them so we ordered a salad as well. Both meals were very good. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Queluz.

Maria Azeitona is a cozy restaurant located in Amadora center - Rua Alfredo Keil. Warm setting, cozy and informal environment and offering some of the most Portuguese traditional recipes and Portuguese tapas. Join us at lunch or dinner time any day of the
We had dinner here twice during our stay in Amadora. It is easily the best restaurant in the area. The food is basically traditional Portuguese but with some modern variations. All fresh, perfectly cooked and presented.Very good wine list and attentive but not intrusive service. We had a 3 course meal - entree, main and dessert with a bottle of good wine and mineral water for 50 Euros all up. Excellent value. They open at 7pm but it tends to get very busy after 8pm so try to get there at 7 to beat the crowd.
