Reviews on Mediterranean food in Punta del Este, Maldonado Department, Uruguay. Punta del Este is known as the St. Tropez of Uruguay, thanks to its beautiful beaches, upscale resorts and swanky nightclubs. The Vegas-style Conrad Casino adds to the lively entertainment scene. For a break from surf and sand, saddle up with a local gaucho and ride horseback through the wild plains surrounding the city.

Good place. Nice, honest food. If the weather is nice, there is outdoor seating. Don't ask for the creme brulée though, not their best dish.

For 70 years the vision of the immigrant Basque Ascension Iturria is repeated; the best dishes..., In the best place. With a perfect view of the Harbor, Mariskonea is renewed. Our classic dishes flavored Basque acquired the unique taste that only experts
I am a frequent Punta del Este tourist. I´ve been going to Punta for over 51 years now and Mariskonea has always been one of those restaurants where you always leave satisfied. Not too big, so it doesnt get extremely crowded, with pretty reasonable prices and a superb couisine. Right from the moment you walk in, the owner´s son in law receives you as if you were the most important customer. The atmosphere, the port right across the street, the same waiters and waitresses from previous years, make you feel more than satisfied. Many many thanks, allways welcome!!!regardsGonzalo

Coming to PDE five times in the past 10 years, we always visit Virazon at least once. The lunch is excellent. We shared a grilled fish entree and typical Uruguay beef sandwich. The service is always excellent. Using our American credit card, they didnât charge the 22% tax.

As it's a hotel restaurant ( conrad) i didn't expect too much but i was wrong, very good ambiance, service excelent and the food came as a picture in a beautiful plate, and the most important, very good taste, dessert also, couvert eith excelent breads, nice and calm place with a good life piano player. It's not cheap but as we have gone to many terrible restaurants with the same price in punta del este, i deeply recomend this one. Worth every penny i've spent

Our group of three friends went once again to Isidora Restaurant. It is still one of our favorite places in Punta del Este. Cordial reception, nice table, swift attention for the menu, bread and butter to start. The house salad and the pumpkin soup with shrimps were excellent. The grilled chicken was tender, Spaghetti with seafood were al dente and a nice portion. The local fish, Brotola grillé, perfectly prepared. The side orders rice, spinach and French fries very good. A wonderful bottle of Monte Vid Eu from one of the premium wineries of Uruguay, Bodegas Bouza is worth its price. The maître dâ, Washington, is the conductor of a team of nice waiters. We had again a very nice evening. Thanks to the Gostanian Family. Max

The town was full of Easter visitors from Buenos Aires and Montevideo so we couldn't find a restaurant without a long line for lunch. We came upon this small restaurant that was busy, but no line, and decided to give it a try. It is right by the beach and the waves were crashing in on a stormy day = beautiful. Service was good, the wine was good, and the food was good.

The best kept secret in Punta del Este! Fish, seafood, paellas, and selected Basque dishes at its best. Nice environment. Service: very good, our waiters Juan and Ms Florencia were great! We ordered: Moules Provençale (Mejillones al Ajillo), and Grilled Octopus as appetizers and Vegetarian Paella to share as a main. As a dessert Caramelized Apple Pancakes with vanilla ice cream. Food: Excellent! Highly recommended! Will definitely come back! âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸

I'marangatú holds the stories of the time when Punta del Este was projected to the world through the visits of the international jet set, being a historical icon in the social life of Punta del Este. Today it returns in all its splendor as a unique meetin
This place is horribly overpriced for the quality of ingredients and poor preparation of same. I got the worst steak I've had in South America, and the sweet potatoes were glazed with some kind of super sweet something that combined with the flavor of the potatoes made them sickly sweet and inedible. Plus they charge 140 peso (per person) cover for bread, that was one stale papadum and three slices of various breads. So you charged me $10 US for two people to split 4 pieces of mediocre bread, ruined my steak by charring the outside to a burnt lump, and made my vegetable into a dessert. This is more money than we've spent on a meal than any other place in 7 months in South America, and I am sad to say out was not even in the top 10 meals we've had, most for a quarter of the cost.Dear Millet02,Thank you very much for visiting I'marangatú. We are very sorry to hear that you didn´t quite enjoy your experience, since we really take great care in the setting, the service and in the quality of the products we offer and we do it with honesty and commitment, that is why, we would have liked to have the chance to change your dishes or having been able to address your complaint at the time. As for the prices, we believe they are in line with market prices, even not being the most expensiveâ¦please take into consideration that both taxes and service costs are very high in Punta del Este. We hope to have the opportunity to make it up for you sometime, you are always welcome.

We have stayed in Punta a number of times but this is the first time we have been to this restaurant. And it will not be the last! A great find. The menu offers a good choice and there is something to suit all tastes and moods. Clearly a very skilled Peruvian chef and we tried both the ceviche and the tiradito which were excellent. In fact all three courses we each had were delicious with the exception of the Thai chicken which was just âokâ, but I blame myself for ordering something which clearly was not a speciality in an Uruguayan restaurant with a Peruvian chef! Very friendly and efficient service. Definitely recommended. DearThank you for your comment. We are very happy to known that you enjoy your experience in Life Bistró.We hope to see you again Best Regards,
