If the food lived up to the promise that the atmosphere and the place give when you walk in, this would be fantastic. I'd definitely go back for drinks, but never order food there.

Nicely situated dockside of the Marina, a pleasant restaurant with welcoming staff and pleasing surroundings. All it lacks is a competent chef! The quality of food offered was reminiscent of "boil in the bag" days. Nothing wrong with it - three different meals all appeared to have the same or very similar sauce on them - but very over-priced for the quality of food served. The wine least was equally over-priced, especially at the upper end. Not a repeat one for us.

We live in Portishead & Aqua has always been our favourite place for Sunday lunch. We have taken friends & my Mum there on lots of special occasions butMum & I went there yesterday for Sunday lunch & were very disappointed. The service was poor even though it was relatively quiet when we arrived. We had to wait a while for our order to be taken & then waited ages for our lunch of roast beef. Whilst we were waiting they tried to serve us with a meal of chicken & something else which was obviously meant for another table although the waiter was confident it was ours. When our food eventually came mine was not very hot & Mum's beef was fatty.They did offer to put my meal back in the oven to warm it up but I declined as I knew this would simply dry the food. The beef was served with Chard which did nothing to improve the meal in my opinion. The dishes of additional veg & roasters were served without any cutlery & the horseradish without a spoon.I realise these are small detaiIs but were offered in the past. I noticed the price has increased and based on our experience yesterday we won't be hurrying back.I did speak to the manager on my way out & he said he would speak to the chef.Please can we have the old Aqua back.
