Located in a small and unprepossessing strip mall in suburban Mount Kiara, this is possibly the best Spanish restaurant I have ever been to. They have indoor and outdoor seating, an extensive menu including tapas, various paellas and other Spanish specialities. The cuisine seems to be quite Catalan in origin. I didn't meet the owner/chef but was told he is a Spanish expat. We started with garlic shrimps and Spanish omelette, and wet on to a black rice ham paella and sliced suckling pig with citrus sauce and melon (the daily special). All were excellent and served in sufficiently large portions that we were unable to finish (despite being used to American size portions). The food total was only about RM160.The drink selection is also broad and well-chosen. The long wine list is almost all Spanish and very reasonably priced (for Malaysia). I had a very nice 2012 Rioja (Solar Viejo Reserva) - which the staff were willing and able to decant - for only RM190. They even managed to produce a glass of Cointreau for only RM20. My only (small) complaint is that the beer choice is not as good - nothing for non-lager drinkers - not even a Guinness to break the monotony. They do have a cider.Service was fast, attentive and friendly. The kitchen opens late (22h45 last orders). Overall a great experience.

This restaurant claimed their food to be absolutely halal and the statement is proudly stated in the front of the menu. It wasn’t a busy Monday evening and there ran out of soup. Sold out as there was a big group, about 20 pax and there finished all the 3 soup choices available. We ordered a four seasons pizza, seafood risotto and lamb racks. The taste was alright and price reasonable. Service, mainly by foreigners, was reasonably efficient.

Via Pre is a suburban eatery serving good basic food reminiscent of many from Phuket to Melbourne. Being an Italian restaurant and not serving pork, is like having Andre Bocelli performing without an orchestra. But be that as it may, its the owners call to cater to a larger audience in affluent Damansara Heights. The chicken dishes, ragu pasta, seafood pasta, in-house breads and duck dishes are all good, pumping them out from a small kitchen. The ambience is fine, fans flapping in competition with the air-conditioning in an open space, that is to say its cooler than the outside, but barely. Its a nice environment especially after a heavy downpour; the tall angsana trees and decidedly chilled-out locale setting the scene. Its good for family, friends, business associates and maybe even a date. And the service is friendly (one of them thinks you're his close friend) and efficient. They do their best to please and I can appreciate that. The pricing is mid to high, as is consistent with the market in the area where another restaurant resides at a higher price point.Thank you so much for your wonderful review! You really spend a lot time to write for use, really appreciate that.We are so pleased to hear that you had a great dining experience with us. Looking forward to see you again soon!Maury & Viapre Team

Tarbush has been around the KL dining scene for a long long time. It has served countless of middle eastern and locals alike with some of the best middle eastern cuisine. Price is slightly on the higher side and when the restaurant is busy, you may have to wait for a while for your food. Patience is a virtue here.
