2 steps from Castillet, in the historic center of Perpignan. Pedestrian street, pleasant for children and families. Beautiful sunny terraces in summer to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine reinvented by the owners of the place. The motto: fresh produce, seasonin
We had dinner here yesterday. Service was relaxed and super friendly. Everything we had was fantastic and the mussels with parsley a particular highlight. The owner was very friendly and we would recommend highly.

It is a small restaurant. Just a few tables. One young man was doing everything receiving, hosting and serving. He was very pleasant and efficient. Jenni and I both ordered fish. I has dorade, seabream I think. It came beautifully brown and crispy outside but tender and flaky from inside along with seasonâs first arrival - asperagus, crisp and juicy lightly sautéed in butter. House white wine was very good, smooth, slightly fruity. Desert was quintessential Crema Catalan - delicious, creamy, not too sweet. The clientele seemed to be quite informal but food sophisticated. As usual, they discussed with the waiter before ordering. It was a delightful evening.

We arrived with the help of GPS promptly at 12noon today, simultaneously with two or three other French couples and families. The location is unprepossessing, in the middle of a row of car dealerships, of all things! The maitre d'hotel and other staff were already stationed outside and gave us a really warm and sincere greeting. It was unbearably hot and humid, and while the outdoor seating was appealing, we opted to sit in the pleasantly air-conditioned interior. It's a lovely spacious airy room, with generous tables generously spaced, with good table linen and attractively set. There is tasteful background music which, after noticing it once, truly receded into the background, for once. We declined an aperitif and began examining the menu. We opted for the daily â¬25 menu, which offered some choice, though we both ended up ordering the same thing: an excellent tuna tartare piled into a shallow bed of tomato gazpacho and topped with minislices of poached peach, of all things! Sounds strange but it worked beautifully. The starter was followed by a delicious main course of fork-tender filet of veal on a bed of girolle mushrooms, cameralized carrots, and potato mousse. To top it off, one is invited to head over to an over-the-top dessert buffet, created by the chef de cuisine who is a pastry specialist, with no fewer than two dozen choices. We each had about five mini-portions which were divine. The â¬25 menu is served at weekday lunch, when it includes a quarter-liter of wine, a beer, or a half-bottle of mineral water. Next time -- and there WILL be a next time -- we intend to explore the more elaborate menus, all of which looked fantastic. Service was among the best we have ever experienced, and I go back to the days of La Cote Basque and Café Chauveron and Lutèce! It was friendly and smiling, without being obsequious or false, and very efficient, without any obnoxious over-hovering or pretension. The pace was perfect. Franck Séguret, the chef de cuisine, made the rounds of all the tables -- many guests in the restaurant, which began shortly to fill up, were clearly regulars -- and he proved to be a truly charming and accommodating man who surely sets just the right tone for all of his numerous staff. We are already eagerly planning our next visit to the Clos des Lys.

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is well worth a visit. We had the set lunch from a very short menu: two main dishes (both fish) and a single dessert option, for 16.50 a person. That might seem a little pricy, but the food was superb. Perfectly cooked fillets of dorade with aubergine cooked two ways; I particularly liked the spicy, smoky aubergine puree. The dessert was based around chocolate -- I'm not normally a fan of chocolate desserts but the combination of bitter and white chocolate, coffee ice cream, and crunchy "crumble" was excellent and beautifully presented. Note, if you're greedy you might be disappointed by the portion size, but it was perfect for us. Friendly service too. When in Perpignan this will be top of my list for lunch.

Popped in here for a lunchtime bite. Place was just filling up with locals. Having had a great meal here can see why they come. My wife had roasted camembert with very tasty roasted potatoes and toasted bread alongside a salad. I had a marvelous chicken and bacon risotto. Best one I have ever had. 2 glasses of Affligem and 2 wines. Came to 50 euro. Impeccable service and great chef. We will be back.

Passing by, if you didn't know better, you'd be expecting unremarkable Catalan tourist fare. You'd be wrong: Pa Amb Tomate offers *remarkably good* Catalan fare, in generous quantities, served with warmth and attentiveness.Plateau of Jamon Pata Negra Bellota with Manchego Cheese was a delicious as it was huge. The special Pa Amb Tomate Patatas Bravas were unusual and excitingly tasty. Truite (a catalan tortilla) with Soubressade was savoury and light. The wine list was comprehensive and, like the food, very reasonably priced. The patron's advice, pairing a fine Figueres red with our order, was beyond reproach. We rather over-ordered (we'd underestimated the generosity of the dishes in comparison to other tapas places), and were calmly prepared a take-out without fuss. Will definitely be going back ('Xupa Xups de Xai', I'm looking at you), and would heartily recommend it to any fans of tapas, charcuterie, and/or good Catalan fare.

Everything about this restaurant is wonderful. The food was amazing, beautifuly spiced without being overdone. I had the eggplant salad (divine!), perfectly marinated chicken kebabs, and a lovely green sald with sunflower seeds and a tart dressing. Yum. My friends had the lamb tagine and it was beautifuly prepared and seasoned, arrived at the table piping hot with homemade pita. I was lucky enough to have a taste, and next time that is what I will order (with the eggplant, of course). The desserts were equally fabulous. Lovely sorbets with Mediterranean flavorings, unusual but very tasty and refreshing. All the sorbets were served with a small pastry--one a crunchy version of a sugar cookie, one with dates, and another with sesame seeds. More yum. And I haven't even talked about the wine the owner recommended--went perfectly with the meal--or the nice decor--or how friendly and helpful the owner and cooks were helping us make our choices. And best of all, the price was fair, well below what I am used to paying for a comparable meal in the UK or the USA. Go try it, you'll be glad you did.

We saw this place recommended on TopAdvisor, and were not disappointed. Good quality, fresh ingredients, used simply, but well, made this a very enjoyable meal. Some of our party of 9 had not eaten Lebanese food previously, but it is somewhere we would all recommend again.
