Reviews on Mediterranean food in Ouagadougou, Centre Region, Burkina Faso. Ouagadougou (/ˌwɑːɡəˈduːɡuː/; French pronunciation: [waɡaduɡu]; Mossi: [ˈwɔɣədəɣʊ]) is the capital of Burkina Faso and the administrative, communications, cultural, and economic centre of the nation. It is also the country's largest city, with a population of 2,200,000 in 2015. The city's name is often shortened to Ouaga. The inhabitants are called ouagalais. The spelling of the name Ouagadougou is derived from the French orthography common in former French African colonies.

OK as a whole, setting original (terrace of a villa) in the trendy / Zone du bois residential are and personnel kind. Specialty is pizza (like more than have a dozen restaurants in Ouagadougou) but might be wise to avoid busy hours in the evening especially towards the end of the week. Since take aways (or take outs) is their core business, be prepared to be VERY patient when deliveries are being looked after while you just ordered...Took us a long time (ran out of pasta) last time I went!

Somehow we didn't feel welcome, maybe because we spoke English. Our expectations were high, as it showed high place on tripadvisor and we were excited to have pizza in Africa. Service was slow, pizza tasted average, no thrills. I would guess you could find a better place to eat in Ouagadougou, but if pizza is what you want, this is your option.

MY REVIEW: Chez Simon is a cheaper (for someone on a foreigner budget) Lebanese restaurant and pastry shop right downtown. It is located less than a block from the Splendide Hotel (turn right on the main road when you go out the door and walk 50m). At noo
Chez Simon is a nice restaurant with normally good food at a reasonable price. But the last two times we've gone, their signature BBQ Beef Burger, up until this point the best hamburger hands-down in Ouaga, has gone seriously downhill. This time, the bun was stale & crumbly, the meat was hard & dry, the burger itself had a bit of a funny smell, and it didn't taste at all like we remembered it. My wife swears that our burgers were made some time ago and they just reheated them before serving them to us. We should have sent them back, but realized too late how bad they really were.I'd still recommend the restaurant for other excellent dishes, but pass on the hamburgers!
This appears to be a second restaurant, the parent being on Ave Kwame N'Krumah. Very similiar atmosphere and cuisine. I am not an official representive, just a visitor, but couldn't find a way to add a restaurant to this list. The parent restaurant is list
A good restaurant with many branches across Ouagadougou.Good cuisine and value for food and fast service.

Lovely ambiance, good service, a variety of options, generous servings and tasty too. The only negative was that some of the dishes turned up cooler than desired; understandable to some extent given the weather and the size of our party - 12 in all.Seating is in one of two large tents or outdoors. Within the tents, comfy sofa's set around short tables gives it a Bedouin feel and makes it ideal to sit back and enjoy conversation and food. Most certainly in the top five of my list of places to eat in Ouagadougou!
