It doesnât matter where your hotel is we highly recommend you make your way to Agios Prokopios and the Giannoulis family tavern and enjoy a choice of traditional home cooking. Excellent service from the moment you arrive. All the meals are very generous in size. The soutzoukakia (meatballs) are amazing. As are the Rosto pork roast, fricasse lamb, moussaka, chicken and pork souvlaki and the lamb chops. The hand cut chips are superb. And donât forget to try a traditional sweet desert such as galaktoboureko , melachrino, kataifii or baklava. A visit to Naxos is not complete without visiting the Giannoulis family tavern. Kalados beach is a long way from Hora, but totally worth it if you value calm waters and peace and quiet, away from the hordes of tourists. The bay is south-facing, so it's completely immune to the strong northern winds usually present at the end of August (meltemi).I am a regular visitor of the beach, but I had never once tried the tavern that sits on top of a hill, overlooking the bay. I finally did in 2019, and I cannot believe what I've been missing all these years! The owner, Georgia, is incredibly friendly and a joy to talk to. The view is just perfect, a panorama of the Big Blue, and a few islands further away. The food is absolutely perfect: Honest, fresh, home-cooked Greek dishes. I seriously did not expect a tavern that has no competition nearby to have such high standards. The horta were beautiful, and so were the kolokithokeftedes. We also had fried kalamari (perfect) and the grilled octopus. The latter was so tender and tasty! They also have rooms, and of course serve breakfast. While I have not stayed in them, i can imagine that staying in Kalados for a few days must be a magical experience.

Faros restaurant opened its doors on March 25, 1992! During all these years of hard working and love for the Greek cuisine, we are proud that Faros has become synonymous with family hospitality, fresh home made food and honest people! The base is pure and

We returned again to Antamoma early because we had no reservation. We ordered a bottle of red while we reviewed the menu. We ordered Lamb Batouli (two of us) and the third ordered the pork steak. Before mains, we ordered the Imam, octopus salad, Horiatiki Greek salad and an order of fried Naxian potatoes. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the lamb dishes and pork. The Imam was fantastic and, for those who like octopus, the dish was wonderful, I am told.Service was superb, polite, friendly and informed service from obviously professional staff. We greatly enjoyed our dinners, the atmosphere was delightful on a beautiful evening. Then, the chef's sister, Ireni stopped to say hello! She has a wonderful personality, very enthusiastic and welcoming. We had a fantastic dinner, very memorable, and the service, setting and wine was absolute perfection. The new renovations are quite niceIn Naxos Chora, this is definitely a restaurant to visit again and again, each visit unveils wonderful creative and delicious culinary skills and flavors. The wait staff is highly professional and knowledgeable and we enjoyed the service, food, ambiance and wine greatly.

We enjoyed a great dinner here which is right on Saint Georgeâs beach. We had fresh pasta with tuna steak and an amazing ribeye which came with corn fritters and Naxian potatoes and was cooked to perfection. The restaurant also offers an extensive wine list. The service was excellent â our waiter was attentive and engaging. We received a complimentary bunch of grapes for dessert.

On a really windy day in Naxos Town we decided to venture out and explore the island. This is truly a hidden gem. We drove through the mountains with some great views of Naxos. We only found out of this restaurant through trip advisor and we thank you for that. Portions are huge, food is unbeleivable fresh homestyle cooking and the hospitality of a lovely family of three take your order and cook and make sure you leave happy. It's a meal that you can't find in NYC. If I'm in Naxos again 100% I will return. It's a must go. No food in the chora compares to it. Great prices as well.

This is a really picturesque family run taverna based by a church in the centre of the village of Melanes. We visited on the strength of the earlier reviews. We received a warm welcome from one of the ownerâs children and ordered the braised lamb in lemon and one of the speciality pork dishes with eggplant. Our food was decidedly average and due to the speed it was served, certainly not freshly prepared. The lamb was a tasteless shank served with chips and the pork was not particularly flavoursome. We were offered complimentary dessert which comprised some fruit and orange cake. Yes, the setting is beautiful and very authentic and the service was good but the food simply didnât live up to expectations and frankly we failed to see what all the hype was about from the earlier reviews. Maybe we visited on an off night.Το οÏι ήÏθε γÏήγοÏα Ïο ÏαγηÏο ÏÎ±Ï Î´ÎµÎ½ Î½Î¿Î¼Î¯Î¶Ï Î½Î± Ïημενει ÏÏÏ Î´ÎµÎ½ είναι καλο η ÏÏÏÏÏαÏα ÏÏοεÏοιμαÏμÎνο, ιÏα ιÏα ÏÎ¿Ï Î´ÎµÎ¯Ïνει ÏÏι Ïο ÏαγηÏά είναι ÏÏÎÏκο και ζεÏÏο και εÏÏεÏε ÏÏο ÏÏαÏÎζι ÏÎ±Ï ÏÏÏÎ¯Ï Î¾Î±Î½Î±Î¶ÎµÏÏαμα άμεÏα και γÏήγοÏα. Was there a few days ago with friends enjoying the sun, sea and seafood. As our aim was to have seafood cuisine and that was exactly what we had. I highly recommend Guna which is a mackerel dish, marinated octopus and mussels. Seriously amazing! The octopus was cooked very well. The balsamic in the salad that we had tasted like there was a hint of coffee in it. Was delicious. My favourite was the Guna fish.
