What to say ?!...Short menu, but a typical "Alentejano" restaurant.Food is very, very good indeed (must go)!Amazing starters -I suggest something with black pork to start...Main dishes very well served and nothing much to say (just try)!Deserts from "Alentejo". All very good, difficult to chose from (I suggest to ask a "pijama" -its a all in one).Fair price.Another suggestion: please go for it in a weekday, or at weekend reserve first, if you could...

Our farm to table restaurant brings to your plate the freshest organic produce, cultivated in the estate and in local familiar farms. Our cuisine is deeply rooted in the culinary tradition of the Alentejo and is based on the concept of sharing, offering a
We were staying at Sao Lourenço do Barrocal & book dinner . The estate is beautiful with gorgeous buildings so having dinner here is a treat in itself. The restaurant is known for highlighting and using fresh local produce from their garden & livestock. We ordered two entreeâs to start & both were good especially the beef carpaccio. However, we found the mains let this restaurant down as the oxtail stew was very rich & my hubby complained his veal was very ordinary. The decor is fabulous with definite farmhouse ambience . The bar is open late for those who want a after dinner drink. If in this region I highly recommend staying or at least having dinner. Casual attire is suitable.

Enjoyed a comfortable group luncheon at this family-run restaurant en route to Ãvora. We started with traditional Portuguese Kale soup which was unexpectedly delicious, accompanied by fresh bread. A roast lamb entrée followed which was also very good. Monsaraz is somewhat out of the way, but if you go, Casa do Forno is a worthy stop. Thumbs up!

This was rated #4 for restaurants but worth a visit. We had lunch overlooking the valley below. Beautiful! The food was also good with codfish casserole and egg tortilla. We chose two wines, the Monsaraz réserva (good) and a white(?) also fine. Itâs really the location with interesting food and drink. The profiteroles were excellent too!

An absolutely stunning setting. The views from the terrace are amazing. The food was okay but a very limited menu and only in Portuguese. The waiter was helpful in translating and our service was good. We didn't go back in our weeks stay due to the lack of choice.
