Where to eat Mediterranean food in Minneapolis: The Best Restaurants and Bars

January 16, 2020 Chanda Heide

Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Minneapolis. With its gleaming skyscrapers set amid glittering lakes, Minneapolis makes for an attractive and fun getaway. A truly year-round destination, the city offers activities for every season. In winter, one can explore the downtown area through more than seven miles of glass-enclosed skyways. In addition to keeping you warm, they create a lively thoroughfare filled with specialty shops, restaurants and services. Whether you want to escape the winter cold or the summer warmth, the Mall of America offers shopping, dining and entertainment options for any time of the year and every member of the family. Art lovers have plenty to see at the Minneapolis Art Institute, Walker Art Center and the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum, which all house world-renowned collections. The theater scene is thriving. With more than thirty theaters, Minneapolis has more seats per capita than any U.S. city except New York. See a Broadway show and enjoy dinner and live jazz at a fabulous restaurant. With kids in tow, check out the Science Museum of Minnesota, where visitors can produce their own video, or come face to face with a shark at the UnderWater Adventures Aquarium. In summer, the action moves outside. Known as "The City of Lakes," Minneapolis has 22 lakes located within city limits and many more in the surrounding area. In town, hordes of locals and tourists in-line skate or stroll around Lake Calhoun, stopping for ice cream along the way. Just outside of town, Fort Snelling State Park offers outdoor recreational activities from hiking to biking and golf to boating. No matter when you visit, Minneapolis offers lots for everyone to enjoy.

Food was good. Holy Land claims to use humane sources for their meat products, non GMOs, and has vegan choices, a large menu choice, which is why I chose the restaurant to eat. But they use plastic silverware and Styrofoam. I won't be able to go back. Holy Land, PLEASE look at your environmental friendliness - it is severely lacking! Your fine establishment could be made excellent if you get rid of the single use plastic silverware, the Styrofoam, cups and lids made out of plastic and straws. Please consider using real silverware, the eat in dishes are real; and for take out please consider using compostable plates and take out dishes, compostable glasses, and if throw away silverware is to be used, please replace the plastic with compostable silverware! Thank you.Dear Kathy, thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority and we are always striving for excellence. We are actually in the works of switching all plastic silverware to real silverware by the end of the year. Our to go silverware will also be switched. Unfortunately due to the heaviness of our food compostable to go containers do not hold up, we are however using city approved to go containers that our customers can reuse and recycle. We will keep working diligently to be as sustainable as possible while still providing our customers with the best possible experience.Kind Regards,Majdi Wadi CEO

We went for dinner on a Sunday evening with three other couples. The service was attentive and pleasant; the menu offerings were varied and interesting; the food was well-prepared and well-presented; the portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. It was, overall, a very pleasant and satisfying experience. Nothing disappointed.

We didn't even know this place was here and just dropped in. My mother is not an adventurous eater and the menu requires some background of Italian dishes. But the waitress was very helpful. They created spaghetti for my mom despite it not really on the menu. My gemelli was great. Good beer on tap and full bar.
