The best octopus this side of Greece. The calamari is not bad either. Lemon potatoes as a side are a great compliment. The fried potatoes were not as appreciated.

Cute cafe in Williamsburg! Stopped in for brunch on a Wednesday at 11:30, no wait! Moroccan egg dish could have been spicier like a shakshuka, but still good flavor. Pita was an odd texture? Add on homemade sausage was great (moderate spiciness) - similar in flavor to a chorizo. Coffee was good, but the only nondairy option was oat milk? Odd that no almond milk or coconut milk was available. All in all good quality and cute ambience. Would return!

been meaning to try this place again after several years, and finally made it. We remembered our original Impressions were good when we first visited. While the bread was tasty again, freshly based with a nice dipping sauce, the rest of the food was uninspiring. While my wife thought are fish dishes were Bland, I would just say that they could have used some additional herbs and spices. This time we tried the sea trout and the flounder. The waiter to his credit warned us that the flounder would not be very meaty and that was quite true. The sea trout was the better of the two dishes. Service was otherwise quite good.

Bahari Estiatorio

Trip Advisor reviews brought us here. We have eaten in Astoria over the years. Bahari is by far the most authentic of all the greek places we have tried. Dress was street casual. There was no wait Saturday 5:30 pm. The waitress brought bread and water promptly. I ordered a house rose’ that was light and crisp. We shared a Greek salad, and a plate of the traditional dips. They were delicious. My husband had the grilled squid with potatoes. He said it was done perfectly. Another waiter explained to him that the squid is thicker than the one they make fried calamari with. I tried the stuffed cabbage in a lemon sauce,a first for me, it was clean tasting definitely made with good quality meat and a side of string beans. I’m not greek but I have to think this is an authentic dish. Dessert was on the house. Nice friendly atmosphere. The only negative is the sound is very loud and it’s hard to hear each other. We will return. The prices are reasonable for such well prepared food.

Saturday. Arrived at tail end of brunch. All good until shift change and our waitress disappeared (around 4p on a Saturday). At this point we became invisible. Food was good. Bus service was good. Waitress service gets failing grade. Its really hard for me to not want to leave a tip. This day warranted it. (We still left 15% and that was way generous). Owner was there and he too was oblivious to the problem. (I hope he reads this post.) We were really dumbfounded. Brunch over at 330. Recommend not arriving between 3-330. After or before should avoid the problem we had.

Nick's Bistro

Last time I reviewed this restaurant, 5-years ago, it was my first time there. Now we've been there countless times and Nick's never disappoints. From great service (waitstaff assists all tables at all times) to a good bar and incredible food - it's all fabulous. On this week's visit I ordered the Special Appetizer of the Day - sesame coated feta cheese with a honey drizzle. I cannot wait to eat this deliciousness again! Yay Nick's - you've done it again and again!

SoleLuna

A friend of mine recommended SoleLuna about a month ago. I rarely frequent restaurants in Sunnyside, so this would be something different. I must say, I am glad a friend recommended this restaurant. The food and service were spectacular. The wine list is surprisingly very good with a fine variety of reds, whites and rose and sangria. The food was exceptional. It felt like we were eating homemade family made Italian Food. The staff was very friendly and attended to all our needs. Marcello, our server, went out of his way to please our party. Highly recommend. Give it a try
