Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Mannheim. Baden-Wurttemberg’s second-largest city after Stuttgart, Mannheim lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers and is rare among German cities for its layout, a grid pattern (or “quadrates”) similar to those found in North America. The grid was originally plotted in 1606 and emanated from Friedrichsburg fortress, which later became the site of Mannheim Palace. Today, it partly houses the University of Mannheim. The city’s iconic water tower and its beautiful Luisenpark are must-sees.

A nice dinner with friends who translated the menu with assistance from the waiter. A good range of simple food, well prepared from fresh ingredients and some nice beer to wash it down.

The Turk Sofrasi (URFA SOFRASI - OCAKBASI) has sublime food! I ordered the URFA SPECIAL (16 Euro) which is a combination of grilled meats (pork, chicken, lamb) with pilaf, bread and chickpeas. The intent is to share this dish and it is a plentiful serving of wonderfully seasoned and grilled meats. The yogurt drink is refreshing (a bit sour if you are new to this drink) but pairs well with the meats served. My companions also ordered Cupra and grilled lamb and each was very pleased with their selection. The restaurant is small, but clean - service is efficient and one can view the brick oven and the kitchen - it is pleasing. If you are in Mannheim do try the Sofrasi AND the middle eastern bakery right next door (killer baklava - four varieties).

Small restaurant with not so many dishes but you will taste something really good...Pasta with a real italian taste, without sophisticated creams or german additions...Really great is then the availability of italian wines, ask to Benito for some suggestion and you will be surprised! Right prices. Definitely suggested.

As every year, the Ristorante Milano offers its guests a four course New Year's Eve Menu and if desired, the participants have also the opportunity to welcome the New Year there. My wife and I used this occasion a few times in the past and stayed here again with a chummy couple. The rooms and tables were festively decorated and exuded welcoming atmosphere. For us as regular guests was the reception very affectionate as always and we enjoyed the courteous and attentive service. As warm-up I enjoyed a Negroni cocktail and after the Italian-influenced amuse bouche we had as first course a mixed starter plate with duck breast carpaccio, pilgrimâs scallop au gratin, oyster and tuna tartar. This delicious entree was followed by two kinds of ravioli stuffed with scallop au saffron sauce and fresh artichoke with butter and sage. The main course was sea bass fried on the skin, beside ratatouille and saffron sauce. For these fish-based dishes we degusted a 2016 Sauvignon âWinklâ Cantina Terlan from Upper Adige. This fresh, delicately fruity and minerally Sauvignon Blanc is an ideal pairing white wine for seafood specialties. We finished the culinary part of the evening with a dessert variation consisting of ice cream, fruit salad and profiteroles.A double espresso together with a barrique aged Chardonnay Grappa from Nonino was a perfect combination for smooth digestion. We welcomed the New Year with a bottle of maximum brut Ferrari sparkling wine with fine perlage and based on chardonnay grapes..The last evening of the year had with this very tasty dinner a successful ending and was worth to come again.

My husband and I decided to try this place during our anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised. He's from Spain and he has been disappointed many times by Spanish restaurants in Germany, which is why we stopped trying them, but we heard great things about Bokeria and it really is an exception! It is not traditional spanish food (and they don't pretend to be), which is why it's great! From the dishes we had, I would say it's more like a spanish+italian fusion. He had the whole dorada fish with the tuscan salad, which reminded him of the traditional picadillo he eats back home. I had the pork fillet with mushroom risotto and it was amazing! We also shared the fried calamari and burschetta and they were very tasty. The service and atmosphere were great as well!

Don't be put off by the surrounding neighborhood, which is run-down looking. The traditional dishes are delicious. Probably one of the best cordon bleu that I have ever had. The rib eye was a thick piece, a real steak. There were various other dishes to choose from, including fish, chicken and pasta. The wine selection is small, mostly from the region, inexpensive, but the waitress selected one for us that pleased all of us. The only disappointment was the white asparagus. It didn't have much taste. Overall, it was a nice dining experience.

Visited with a colleague. I had the ribeye steak which was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and very tasty. I had the potatoes with bacon and onion on the side which went well with the steak. We didn't have starters of desserts but enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.

This was a very long business dinner, but was quite enjoyable. We had a stream of antipasta coming to the table and all were excellent. Also, we each ordered an entree and everyone enjoyed. However, we did not have to order an entree, as we could have extended the antipasta. Coming from the States, I was delighted to find such a nice Italian restaurant with a German theme. The servers allowed for a lot of time for us to enjoy, but plan on a long evening.

This place looked very promising, less formal and more fun than a more conservative Italian place a few doors down. The staff was very attentive initially, quickly taking drink orders and delivering a menu (in German only). Thanks to some photos on TripAdvisor, I was able to ask a few food questions which help decide what to order.A wonderful salad came quickly, but then it slowly the visit begin to fall apart. As the restaurant slowly cleared of customer so too did the staff, they disappeared! it took nearly 40 minutes for a pasta come out and only when I asked the staff about it. They forgot to fire the order?! They never came back to check on if everything was OK with the food or offer a second drink order. They were too busy polishing glasses behind the bar and cleaning silverware. Granted it was 21:30 and towards the end the night but this is inexcusable! What could've been five stars is now three.

We came with family to celebrate Germanyâs Fatherâs Day. The boat was cozy and the waitstaff was very nice and helpful. We had the asparagus soup, delicious, and our main course was the seafood duo. The main course was disappointing in flavor. Luckily the dessert was excellent; we had creme brûlée and chocolate mousse. The hamburger looked great and our family member said it was really good.
