Restaurant Il Teatro Antica Trattoria Food With Style In A Special Italian Ambient. Enjoy The Mediterranean Flair.
Although its location is probably not terrific for most diners, since we were staying at the nearby Courtyard hotel, it was just about the only place within walking distance. However the food -- Italian -- was excellent, the wine very good, and the service quite good as well.

Stopped there with my mum for a special night. We both love seafood and we weren't disappointed. I went off piste with my starter, home made tortellini stuffed with porcini with a sauce of prawns. Not something I would normally put together but it works, a total taste sensation. Fried baby calamari and giant prawns were super soft and tasty. My main of fish, prawns and baby squid was excellent. Drinks are reasonably priced. The only setback was the panna cotta which suffered too much gelatine and not enough vanilla. But overall, loving it!!!

This restaurant in one of the southern suburbs of Linz, 3 to 4 kilometers away from the city centre, serves excellent Italian food. We reserved for a business dinner with a group of 7. We all ordered different items from the menu, starters, main course and desserts. All food served was of the highest quality. And accompanied by a very good italian wine, too! The service was just about perfect. All dishes in each course of our meal were always served simulaneously and at the right temperature. Will definitely return.

The restaurant is charming and the service was very friendly. It was very busy and obvious there were many returning local patrons there. The individual sized pizzas had very thin crusts and very little in the way of toppings. This may be authentically Italian and/or Austrian as other reviewers indicate but it was different from what we make ourselves at home in The States. I would have liked more of the topping to give these a higher rating.

What a lively, energetic tavern in a sleepy Austrian city of Linz. Place is fantastic: home atmosphere, freshly made tasty mediterranean food, witty, humorous staff with limited but sufficient knowledge of English, smells of good kitchen, simple, young wine- these all make it. I already miss it!

I try and eat here at least once on every trip to Linz. My go to dinner is their Ossobuco al Barolo. It is one of the best I have had anywhere. The Bigoli ai Frutti di Mare (mixed seafood over pasta) is very good as well. I have not tried the pizza, so can't comment on those. Service is very quick and the beir is cold and great of course. Prices are very reasonable. Location is right in the Hauptplatz, so very convenient.

We visited the Il Caminetto twice during our stay in Linz for a variety of reasons. First, it was very close to our hotel so once we parked the car in the garage, it was a very short walk to the restaurant - perfect after a long day of sightseeing. But secondly, we visited twice simply because it was that good. The food was delicious and the staff all friendly and helpful. The first night we at inside as the terrace was full but we were able to find a table on the terrace for the second night. This restaurant also seemed to be a favorite with the locals which is always a good sign. Highly recommend

Choosen by ranking in TA and no disappointment. Very good mood, decent wine and service. I had Branzino with potato puree and may recommend it. Maybe a bit dry so some olive oil will make the job.
