We were in this restaurant in the evening. The place is quite relaxed with a nice view to the river and fishermen nets. The food has a good quality with fresh fish and seafood . I like the small fried shrimps. Very crunchy and without any remains of oil.I found it a little more expensive compared with similar restaurants in Isla Antilla and Isla Cristina, but it worth a visit.

It is not exactly a restaurant but a "spanish bar", quite simple but the food was very nice and very good value. It is in front of the sea so eating in the terrace is beautiful.

Often eaten here as good location for our travels in that area. Don't be put off by all the building works outside (as April 2015) as it does look a bit of a mess at the moment outside, but the quality of food and service make up for it, and certainly nothing else in the area to compare. Also a good place to just stop and have a coffee at the bar which is always good as well. I have ticked the "good for large groups" box but make that no more then 12-15 else it would be too small. Recommend eating series of various tapas and sharing rather than a starter each, everything was good and if here are 4 or 5 of you it gives the opportunity to have a good mixture.

We have been coming to La Montanera for 16 years and have enjoyed every meal weâve ever had here. The service is excellent and discreet. The cuisine is superb, always with new dishes to try. The croquetas are the best in Spain! The restaurant is always full with regulars and visiting Spaniards. Weâre glad to hear that other nationalities have now found our little secret. We come here on every visit, wouldnât miss it for the world.

At the end of our holiday we tried this place-recommended by others and I notice most reviews are in Spanish as this is off the beaten track in a quaint town called El Torron. It is a Spanish speaking restauant but the manager couldn't have tried harder to please us-and one waiter struggled with his English as we struggled with our Spanish and somehow it all came together. A lovely meal-reasonably priced in spite of some saying it is dear-you can eat well here at a reasonable price and the house wine is only 11 euro a bottle and very nice! I recommend any of the pork dishes-my husband wasn't all that impressed with his steak. The starters were unusual and very tasty. A highlight for us of the holiday!

I often go to Lepe for business, always pay a visit to Felipe and his brother, normally, for dinner... forget the menu, ask them what they have fresh and challenge yourself with tasting any unknown suggestion... either meat and fish are excellent choices, local wine and/or a proper Manzanilla plus a final "chupito" digestive drink as Felipe courtesy... You will be very positively surprised by a very cheap bill at the end, excellent combination price per quality... buen aproveche!

Went here from a recommendation and wondered what we let ourselves in for, coming into a carpark but we were pleasantly surprised. Not much English spoken but we managed. Food was great and fantastic value. Many thanks Barlovento.
