The really want to please. Their attitude is extraordinary and that makes the experience very enjoyable. The food is good, especially the ham and dry sausages. We were wrong following their advice on the local wine and asking for a âchuletónâ that they obviously did not know how to cook.

A lovely change in a meat predominant region to find this restaurant producing tasty modern Tapas with some non-meat based options. The food was tasty, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We ordered 4 tapas to share and then two desserts, but had only had a light lunch. The servings are not huge but this was plenty. Service was great. You can dine inside the quaint old house with lovely music playing or outside over the road on the terrace by candlelight. With 2 glasses wine each good value at â¬36

Found this restaurant by chance whilst visiting this area - first visited La Alberca a beautiful village suggested by the tourist office in Salamanca. Bought lots of local produce in a shop there and they suggested visiting San Martin for a meal as we were too early to eat in La Alberca. What a lovely suggestion after meeting a man and his dog in the village square of San Martin and buying a bonsai tree off his cart we asked him where to eat and he suggested El Meson. We had two menu del dias with wine and water for the total sum of 20 euros!! The service was brilliant all served with a terrific smile. Quite a long way from Javea for Sunday lunch but one day we will be back!

We were staying in Sotoserrano for a few days and were recommended a restaurant in Mogarraz called Mirasierra but when we turned up it was fully booked, we went across the road to Calama ibericos, the atmosphere was lovely, it was a bank holiday so everyone was out. We had the menu of the day, the restaurant inside was really nice, modern, clean and great tables. We had setas with ham and a salad with Foie Gras and bollota ham to start, then steaks and pork and finished with a leche Frita and carrot tart, the wine was left on the table to help yourself. The. Bill came to â¬43, great value for such lovely food

My husband and I were driving through the mountains from Madrid to Salamanca on June 30th and arrived in the lovely town of Miranda del Castanar too late for lunch and too early for dinner. We were hungry and tired and we had the great good fortune to stumble into the beautiful Restaurante Las Petrolinas. The owner was kind and welcoming, and although the restaurant was closed, he made us a delicious embutido together with two very cold beers and we were restored and went on our way. This experience will stay in our memories. I am just sorry we were not able to have a full meal at this little gem of a restaurant. Our thanks once again to the owner who was so kind to us.Dear Cityvista,Thank you very much for your positive feedback!!We always try to adapt to any schedule so we can satisfy any client, and especially foreigners, to make their time more Of course the kindness has been mutual. We hope to see you again at Restaurante Las Petronilas.A big hugJavier López
