Contemporary Italian and Mediterranean Cuisine served in a relaxed and friendly environment. We specialise in Pizza, Pasta, Fresh Fish and Meat. Our Chef uses only quality and the freshest ingredients to create a varied menu selection to tempt all tastes.
Given all the strong reviews we chose this place for lunch. Unfortunately, typical English food standards are so low that it's hard to know what to make of a good recommendation. The very full menu was promising, the service friendly (if a bit unprofessional), but it was a disappointment from there. For all it's Italian credentials the too-loud Mexican (?) music was bemusing, and the house wine (Merlot, a popular choice, according to the waitress who then told me she didn't like wine) was a let down. Sounding like something original and tasty, I ordered the pumpkin-potato gnocchi with a sage butter sauce, which arrived swimming in over-salted clarified butter (probably 1/2 cup's worth!) flecked with chopped sage. The (tasteless) focaccia arrived after the second request which helped to soak up some of the butter, but I had to leave most of it in the dish or I would have been ill. Luckily I had opted for the started size, accompanied by a mixed green salad which was too simple to get wrong.

TA often asks if a restaurant is a hidden gem. This is. It's not in any way posh or fancy or high end or anything like that. But the food is great and plentiful. Service was great and so was the very understated atmosphere and decor. I thought it worked well without being over Cypriotized. Theres a few references to Cyprus, but they haven't made it like a shrine to Cyprus. There's a good choice of non Cypriot/Greek food also. The restaurant has been in the family since 1940....amazing. not expensive. You'll only need two courses max. So if you want a pudding, don't order a starter. You'll never eat it. Really loved this restaurant and will be going back as soon as I can.

Traditional English and Greek food. Breakfast, lunch, Thursday Friday and Saturday nights from 18:00 till 22:00 traditional Greek food (mezedes)
We visited on a Saturday evening after booking (bookingâs essential) and were welcomed in then shown to our table by the capable manageress. After that, the highly efficient waitress looked after us very well. The Blue Island is totally authentic and reminded me of warm evenings in Corfu. The menu is classically Greek and not extensive, but what is on offer is totally authentic.I had Stifado and my Partner Souvlaki; both were plentiful, fresh and tasty. We asked for olives to nibble on whilst our food was prepared (lush) and were treated to complimentary Baklava after.Prices are reasonable and the wine more so.As soon as you walk in the door and smell the cooking, you know youâre in for a treat.Weâll look out for one of the Blue Islandâs entertainment nights - and book a cab!

Our friends were taking us from Arlesford to Southampton for an Italian treat, this place was next door and we had a pre lunch drink, good friendly staff and a large range of drinks, a very Spanish feel to the place and what looked like a large range of Tapa's, although not very busy, we spent a very pleasant hour and will come back for Tapa's another time, well worth a visit.

Friday night family dinner during weekend away. Initially had the place to ourlelves as it was quite quiet. Service exemplary and the food was fantastic with a good choice on offer with everything reasonably priced. The atmposhere is a little odd. Personally I found it a touch "nightclubby" in it's feel, neon lights, flashy bar, bit plasticky etc, Would have made the dining experience better if they toned this down and made this place a touch more "traditonal" in it's feel. Still a great meal though.

We were planning to treat a couple of very special friends to a fine dinner and choose Maxâs as our venue. Iâm pleased to report an impressive and fabulous experience. The food was great. Really enjoyed the portobello appetizer. The monkfish main was very good. We especially enjoyed the attentive, knowledgeable staff and small family cafe ambience. A very comfortable spot. (Small place so reservations highly recommended)

Despite living on Southampton for decades, this was my first visit to Ennio's. Nice venue with smart decor and attentive staff; the menu was very comprehensive with some excellent choices. The food was good quality, well cooked and well presented. Not the cheapest of places and I'm not a fan of the very un-English practice of including Service on the bill, but well recommended.
