Authentic Italian cuisine cooked by Italian chefs in our 70 seat dining room as well as our 70-80 people function room with own bar area
We were looking forward to trying this newly refurbished/new ownership restaurant (previously Casa Nostra, now Valentinos). Upon entering we were impressed with the decor and it did look inviting. We were seated, given menus.......and then seemingly forgotten . No one came to take our drinks order so eventually we had to catch the attention of one of the waiters, otherwise we would have died of thirst. We had a drink and then ordered our food. When it arrived, to say we were underwhelmed is indeed an understatement....the presentation was like something from the 70s with parsley sprinkled all round the plate (no matter which dish was ordered) and the side dish of vegetables was.....well...laughable. They were chopped so small, even the roast potatoes, and even they were covered in parsley. Now I love parsley but think they must have bought a crate full. Our meals were very mediocre and Iâve eaten better in the local pub. We were going to order dessert until I saw 2 of the waiters using their fingers to scrape ice cream off the scoop and they also used gloveless hands when plating up desserts, not very hygienic and very slapdash. There seemed to be only one waiter who knew what he was doing, the rest need a course on restaurant etiquette and organisational skills. The list goes on, but Iâm sure you get the drift. Will we be back?...........Never again.

The restaurant has only been open since December 2010 and is run by two Syrian chefs, husband & wife.
Med-One is a really nice, cozy restaurant with lovely authentic Lebanese food. Itâs not the bigest place so worth booking first. Service is very good and prompt and the food is always excellent. There is a good choice of dishes and all at very good prices. So all-in-all Iâd recommend Med-One to anyone and weâll certainly be back again soon!

Great little authentic Italian restaurant not too far from the centre of Huddersfield. Five of us in the toon on business and needing some food, recommended by the staff in the bar where weâd met, and was a great recommendation. Authentic Italian food from pizza, pasta and everything in between. Great selection of wines at reasonable prices too. Highly recommended if youâre in the toon for pleasure or business.

Opened in 1997, Volare is still an independent restaurant, owned and managed by The Corless Family. Inspiration for the menu has been taken from the Mediterranean region, with an emphasis on a wonderful array of unique Tapas but also serving seafood dishe
We were thoroughly looking forward to our visit to Volare and the food we are did not disappoint. What let it down massively was that as soon as our main courses were taken away we were entirely forgotten about. We wanted deserts and more drinks but being tucked away in a corner, no one ever returned, after a very long wait we ended up going to the local coop to buy pudding to take home. Such a shame, as we had been so impressed at the outset.I am very sorry that we left you feeling disappointed. This is the very last emotion that I'd like to evoke from our customers and your review has distressed Team Volare a great deal. We've had a conversation on our staff group chat about how we can prevent this from ever happening again and we are going to trial a few ideas. It isn't the norm for an incident like this to occur but I would like to safeguard against in the future. The excuse we came up with, for our lack of your care, was that the serving team thought that you'd been offered the dessert menu and the manager (my wife) was reassured, when she made her usual, very regular enquiries with her serving team about where each table was up to, that you had been offered it. It was very busy with lots of special birthdays in and the usual, exciting but nicely chaotic atmosphere so they must simply have been distracted, at a crucial point in your meal experience and for this, we all sincerely apologise. They are a very friendly bunch of talented, focused servers and I am dismayed that you felt that you couldn't call one of them over. They would have rushed to help you and to correct any rare (but admittedly unforgivable in this case) mistake that they may make. Your service should be automatically carried out and you shouldn't need to have any reason to call one of us over but surely this would been more favourable to do, in this instance (so you could have enjoyed one of our homemade delicious, spectacularly presented desserts, in a romantic cosy corner of a lovely restaurant, rather than eat an ice lolly from a shop?) and you could then have avoided damaging us with this quite hurtful, very public review? I'm cross that we lost out on crucial sales but I'm more upset that you didn't leave happy. My staff are aware of my anger over this but I hope they also know that I am very proud of them, on the whole because they normally do a wonderful job - they never fail to create a special, warm, inviting quality with their lovely smiles and trying-to-please attitudes.A gripe that I have is that the other 99.9% of customers appeared to leave our venue feeling happy and content this week. It's a shame that this has to be our only review. It does affect our morale. We are human beings, working in an independent, family run business and good reviews spur us on.
