Holmfirth is a small town on the A6024 Woodhead Road in the Holme Valley, within the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England. Centred upon the confluence of the Holme and Ribble rivers, Holmfirth is 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Huddersfield and 13 miles (21 km) northeast of Glossop. It mostly consists of stone-built cottages nestled in the Pennine hills. The Peak District National Park around Holme Moss is 4 miles (6.4 km) to the south of the town.

Hate giving negative reviews and not all the restaurants fault but here goes. We appreciate the non booking system however on this occasion it was crazy busy and a bit chaotic. It was just one of those times when everything goes a bit wrong. We travelled a distance and arrived at 6:15pm - the place was packed and already in full swing which is strange after supposedly opening at 6pm? We managed to be seated upstairs but it was like a madhouse. Not the restaurants fault but a couple of tables were making it impossible to have an enjoyable meal. Strange there was no sparkling water available and g&t without a slice and flat tonic is not great. We asked for bill before food arrived. Such a shame as our previous visit was brilliant. Maybe need to consider a booking system for parties of all sizes as not everyone lives in Holmfirth.

We eat at Poppa Piccolinos a few times a year, and once again we had very good service from mine host Lim and his staff. Our meals were excellent from a very varied menu and after many years visiting his establishment we still recommend Poppa Piccolinos wholeheartedly.

Wow! This was our first visit here despite living nearby for the last 6 months. We fancied something âdifferent â and I really canât recommend this place enough. Gorgeous hot and cold starter (falafel, aubergine dip & bread feta boat thing!) were all incredible. Mains even better. Iâll attach photos as I canât remember dish names. In summary, donât hesitate to come here

But very glad we came back. We had the Rapido menu which is served weekdays before 6pm. 5 tapas and 2 sides for £25. Excellent portion sizes and really good food. Service also very good.
