For those old timers, they already know about Confettis. For the young bucks, Layla is the reinvention of the already amazingly good Confettis, which has stood here for 16 years. Hawaiians have pupus, hipsters have tapas, and Middle Easterners have Mezze. These shared small plates are just the beginning and small sample of the breathtaking meal you are about to partake in. Both chilled and hot are available, and every single thing I've had here has been on point. My faves and must haves every single time are the kibbeh (beef croquettes stuffed with pine nuts and spices. A Lebanese specialty), Layla's signature fries (fries with zaatar spice mix and harissa aioli dipping sauce.), and a fried cauliflower dish that I don't believe appears on the menu, but we have lucked out and had it more than once. I have no idea how or what they do to make cauliflower taste that amazing, but it's pure crack, in a good way. We usually have to order two plates of it.Other honorable mentions that I enjoy are the halloum cheese (Cypriot sheep milk cheese) and the big a_s thick, rich crab cakes. Unreal, right? And we haven't even gotten to the main dishes yet! As usual, when eating somewhere, I like to entrust the waiter or chef to choose what they think is a good representation of that restaurant- or their favorite. I hardly fail when doing so, and a lot of the times am pleasantly surprised, and get to experience something that I probably never would have ordered otherwise. There are a number of signature dishes available after five. For me, there is one that stands out and calls my name. Let me paint you a picture. Take a nice sized bone-in chicken breast that has been rubbed in some mystical secret spice mix and carefully oven roast it.Meanwhile, to make the flavors even more profound, dried apricots and garbanzo beans are thrown into the mix. Lace that with a perfectly executed creamy saffron sauce, then finally bedded down on a just-right amount of saffron couscous. Accompany with a handful of string beans that have been boiled just right, that snap like they should, and you have the masterpiece that is the Moroccan chicken. I loved the old Confettis, but I am madly in love with Layla. The next generation of the Tadros family have done an amazing job with it. They have given a whole new population of Utahns a delicious and classy place to enjoy a Middle Eastern meal, without the pretentiousness other places carry. Service is always impeccable, and as I mentioned, I haven't had a bite here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. It has since become a tradition when I visit SLC to eat at Laylas, and save room for dessert at Iceberg a few miles away. A fine tradition I might add, and I can't wait until I visit again, so I can carry it on.

The concept of Cafe Madrid is hundreds of years old. Exceptional food and world class service blended into an intimate, charming environment, providing a rich and memorable dining experience. Imported from Spain, this concept has become a reality for the
After just getting back from a home trip to Barcelona, Spain I was really happy to know that we have a Spanish Restaurant here in Salt Lake. The bread was great, the sangria was fine, and some of the tapas were actually really good. The paella was not up to bar as authentic Spanish paella but it wasnât bad, overall it was fine. I probably would go again because those rolls were really good and so were some other dishes. Did kind of have an issue with the waiter kind of being a bit off, it was uncomfortable how he had to make everything perfect. I donât know, thatâs just the vibe everyone at the table got. My parents liked it though, so it wasnât too bad, it was pretty good.

I am a total foodie and this places street cart fries are absolutely amazing. I can't tell you how many people I have introduced to this place and asked them to "Just trust me" Fries for lunch sounds strange but it is a complete meal. They put so much on top of the fries that you don't need anything else. The wraps are also amazing but I can never pass up the street cart fries.

Found the restaurant by mistake, but am so glad we did. Always looking for great food, and this totally fit the bill. We went with another couple and had four separate entrees and two different appetizers...each was to die for. Perfect pasta dishes, and the carbonara was the best Iâve ever tasted. I have read complaints about their service; however, we thought it was superb. We will definitely be back, and are looking forward to visiting their new location which will open up near Farmington Station.
