Reviews on Mediterranean food in Holbox Island, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Flamingos and pelicans and herons…oh my! Holbox Island is beloved by bird nerds for its population of exotic avian life. Perched near the Yucatan Peninsula, the island is also a hot spot for whale shark viewing, and kiteboarders love the shallow waters and wide beaches. The white sand streets are relatively unspoiled, as most tourists prefer to party it up in nearby Cancun. A splash in Yalahao Lagoon is about as loco as it gets.

We visited Holbox for Christmas week 2018 and my wife wanted to experience Paella so that's what we ordered on Christmas Day. 1) the waitress said it was priced at 350 pesos and that turned out to be Per Person so actually 700 pesos (each dish serves 2) 2) when the bill came they said they couldn't accept credit cards so we had to hike around downtown Holbox to find an ATM to pay the $135 bill.3) the paella really sucked big time! A thin coating of burnt rice on the bottom of a pan. I googled Paella to see what real Paella looks like and this ain't it!! Bottom line: don't eat meals at a beach bar, at least not this one.Good night, sir, First of all we apologize for not accepting the card and not having warned you. We are very sorry for the price confusion, the price indicated on the menu is for one person only, like all our dishes. For the paella we are very confused, every week we sell an average of 20 paellas and we have always been congratulated, even there are customers who return to the restaurant only for the paella. Our chef has worked for 5 years with the family escribà who are from the best paelleros of Spain as head of the paella game, with ferran adria, martin berasategui, josean martinez alija, are the best chefs in the world according to the magazine michelin.the paella you searched on the internet is "standard" ours is "premium". It is a paella prepared with the method "socarrat" is a way of cooking rice and with lobster head broth. All that takes our paella are fresh products, the lobster is caught right here on the island and the truth that this harsh criticism and the recommendation not to come to eat at the restaurant makes us sad because tripadvisor is the most powerful tool to work or stop working and critics like these can get a restaurant to stop working and we are investing a lot of money, passion, work and knowledge and with a few comments so could collapse all this effort. Thank you for coming to our house and hopefully come back to show you that we improve day by day and that every client counts for us.Team La Palapa Beach Bar.

we loved our meal here!! Alexandra was our waitress...we stopped by to read the streetside menu and she approached us and was super nice and answered all our questions..we thought .."why not!!'....we were happy we stopped. Boyfriend had the Filet (medium) with Potatoes and mixed veggies and a red wine and I had homemade pasta with lobster, cherry tomatoes in an olive oil and one bottle water. It came to $872.00 peso's with a built in 10% tip....we added more for the tip. It was our priciest meal on the island (and we didn't find that price bad) and was one of our best meals also!! so good...would go back in a heartbeat! Super clean place...lots of great selections and our waiterss was such a pleasure to visit with. Well worth the price!! Excellent find!!

A creative menu of dishes cooked using the best quality ingredients; Uruguayan beef, the freshest seafood, homemade pasta dishes and thin, crispy pizzas from our woodfired oven.
We wanted somewhere to go for a special dinner and our hotel recommended Parador 33 and we were not disappointed. It's in the grounds of a hotel with a beautiful setting - fairy lights / little pond and feels like you should be in the Far East with it's wooded tables and beautiful scents. We had the special which was out of the world. A generous cut of meat for two that is encased in salt and cooked on the pizza oven! When read the salt is cracked and the beef is as soft as butter - divine! It's a very special place and wonderful helpful staff and you're not rushed at all! A joy - treat yourself! It's a bit more expensive than a lot of the restaurants but if you are celebrating or want to treat yourself - don't hold back!

Sensations, Express, Flavors, Aromas, Play, Friendship, Talk, Have fun, Enjoy, too many words... Just come to visit us
We cale.in the evening for drinks only. We sat on the terrasse which is nice and our order was taken immediatly. Though it took us 20 minutes to get it... Ok meanwhile we got like 10 nachos of bad quality and some industrial mayonaise to dip them in.When we asked for the bill we specified we wanted change to give a proper tip. The waitress brought us back a single 50 pesos bill forcing us to leave her a much bigger tip than deserved the wait. The restaurant was full and you can't make me beleive that no one paid with some coins or some small bills. This attitude is despicable and we won't come back. There are much better place in holbox with live music for example.

Casa Nostra Roof Restaurant is a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant with a hint of Caribe. A pleasant mix of two islander's culinary cultures ( Sicily and Holbox) able to tantalize the most demanding taste buds.
The service here is incredible and the experience of being on the roof at sunset was very fun! However the dishes were constantly oversized and very average tasting. They werenât bad... I suppose because of the other high reviews we had high expectations. The wine was the best we had on the island. But my pasta dish was mostly very average pasta noodles and little flavor or protein. I was most disappointed in the bread rolls they offered. They were very hard and stale. We likely wonât return but it was a nice experience in general!
