Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Hartford. From its origins as a Connecticut River trading post in 1633, Hartford has become not only the state capital but also the insurance capital of the world, with a slew of historical attractions, a thriving arts and entertainment center, a revitalized riverfront and beautiful parks and public gardens. It was here that the lovable Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer were born in the imagination of celebrated author Mark Twain and immortalized on paper during the writer's Hartford years. Twain's home and those of fellow literary figures Harriet Beecher Stowe and Noah Webster are open to the public. The Wadsworth Atheneum, the oldest public art museum in the U.S., houses Pilgrim-Century furniture, the Amistad collection and a special treasure hunt system to entice kids to explore the museum's works. If your timing is right (end of June, beginning of July), you'll catch the Elizabeth Park rose gardens in bloom, but fall is also great for brilliant leaf colors, and spring yields colorful gardens and blossoming trees. For a bird's-eye view of the city, visit the observation deck of Travelers Tower, where you might also spot two resident falcons.

My goodness this store/restaurant is phenomenal. I have tried their spicy falafel sandwiches and they are amazing! There are so many yummy desserts and middle eastern specialties to purchase. The sandwiches are reasonably priced and the service is fast and efficient. Do not hesitate to try this gem!

I had forgotten how good it was. Or maybe it is better.I attended an evening function here, and the food was served for the meeting cafeteria style. Nevertheless, everything was excellent, especially the paella, the sausages, and the marinated chicken. Very tender.Servers were all very helpful and accommodating.

My husband and I visited Majorca while on business in Hartford. Glad we did! The vibe/ambiance of the dining room is great...with exposed brick walls. Our server was attentive, friendly, and professional. But let's talk food! We love tapas and the opportunity to try different small plates... If you go try the Datiles Rellenos (dates stuffed with chevre and almonds, wrapped in bacon)... my mouth is watering just thinking about them. We also loved the Albondingas (spicy pork meatballs) so much....we ordered a second helping! The grilled squid was also tasty as was the Pato con lentejas. To be honest...I think we sampled half the tapas menu offering...all earned a thumbs up! Good selection of wines and signature cocktails. In house desserts (casita cheesecake & mango tart tatin) provided a great ending to a great meal. Can't wait for our next trip to Hartford! Go....you won't be disappointed!

After the last very disappointing experience we decided to give it another try in hopes of improvement. To our surprise on Sunday night 6:00 the restaurant was half full which was never the case before. We had a nice table outside asked for drinks the waitress had no clue, the second waitress can still no clue. The first one came back asking for whatâs in it seriously at WH restaurant wow. The second waitress comes back asking if I had the drink there before and the answer is I sure did. Then I am told they do t have the ingredients to make it really no Barleyâs or Kabulâs. Oh, well I got a different concoction free of charge. We placed our order the food was good as always actually the calamari is much better then before. The hanger steak steak arrived to the table and was dropped at which point we were asked if we want another one. Need to say no more. Great service is hard to find but makes a difference even if the food is good.

Mediterranean-influenced cuisine with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. Our specials change often based on what is available at our preferred markets, farmers, fishmongers and trusted vendors. We also encourage our vegetarian, vegan and glute
My boyfriend and I visited Hartford for the first time and chose this small restaurant for it's uniqueness and the fact that it's attached to a movie theater. Our food was excellent and served quickly. Our waitress, Carmen, was very personable and gave us plenty of suggestions for things to do in the area. We went on a friday night and I was surprised at how empty the restaurant was. The place is great and simply needs more exposure!!
