This bar has a super modern feel and is really clean. They have a decent selection of Pintxos and drink specials. The quirky thing is they're always playing American music and music videos but I love the vibe.

I was looking for somewhere to lunch in the old dock area of Bilbao before catching the ferry home. I'd walked around the Getxo area and really liked it, I'd also noticed some possible restaurants to eat in. So I did some research and thought this looked like the best option, though several people said it was pricey. We ignored the a la carte menu, which I will agree, did look expensive and simply opted for the menu del dÃa at 18⬠each. You do need to ask for it, as it wasn't offered spontaneously, though it is written on the blackboard downstairs and was another of the reasons we chose this restaurant. For 18⬠you get a starter, main dish, dessert, bread and a bottle of wine between you. The food was delicious and in just the right quantities: I had a delicious tuna salad which was large enough for a main meal, complete with white asparagus, tomatoes and so on, followed up by escalopes in a port sauce and finished off with a Catalan cream. It really was excellent food. The only additional cost was coffee and tax of around 10%.The service was quirky: once seated, you are left to your own devices and gradually you realise that the waitress deals with a table completely, turning to the next table once she has put your order in. Everything happens very quickly after that! Once your plates are scooped up, you know the food is on its way! The waitress was in fact very helpful, sorting out an English translation of the menu del dÃa and explaining it. It also helped when another waitress arrived and things speeded up. I would most certainly eat here again, it's in a nice location and the interior of the restaurant is very attractive too.

Living at Bilbao, I do not need a hotel, however recently we had a dinner party there in the lovely restaurant to give farewell to one of our friends. We entered with high expectations, but left the place quite disappointed for several reasons.Service was o.k., however none of the waiters cared to fill up the glasses later on.The entrance dishes were up to expectations, but the main course was some sort of a pitfall. It consisted of a grilled rape (devilfish) with a side dish of fine cut chipirones in su tinta (calamaries in their ink). The devilfish was dry - most probably deep frozen, the chipirones quite hard. If I would have cooked this at home, I would have said: not my best day...The dessert again was one of these "industrial-type" cakes, nothing special. The worst of all was the mens lavatory, just a mess. So I complained at one of the waitresses.Later on we went to the bar and dancing place. As there were a lot of persons present, temperature was quite high and combined with the high humidity it was quite uncomfortable. I asked the barman to increase the air-conditioning or to open a door. He told me hat air-conditioning was already at maximum and the door can not be opened because it is broken.Needless to say, the door was labelled as emergency exit...Any further question?

We went there with a coupon, and it was not bad. Neither good, but not bad. The service, not very good. The food, not too much (in the coupon it was not said that everything was one dish to share), and very simple, without any preparation. The overall, a 5. But one thing that really angry me is these kind of places that say "kobe burger", and it's not kobe. I was very surprised to see that on this restaurant, so it's on my list of robbers, like the irish tavern of Gorliz.

After reading the other reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to give Pulcinella a try. We walked 1.25 miles to the location shown on the map on Trip Advisor and on the restaurants own web site only to find it wasn't there. We eventually discovered it was within 100m of where we had started, close to the Puente Colgante. We never got to try the food as the waiter was so rude and unhelpful that we walked out half way through ordering. We will never go there again.

We took a day trip out of Bilbao and stopped at this place after reading TripAdvisor reviews. It is just a neighbourhood bar but the food was great. There are pintxos for â¬1 on the bar but we went for raciones including delicious and perfectly cooked solomillo and lovely muscles cabredos in a spicy sauce. A real surprise and highly recommended.

I eat here whenever I come to the Bilbao area. What appears to be an unassuming bar on the street hides a little restaurant at the rear serving excellent food at really reasonable prices. Every first course I've tried over the years has been delicious. For a main course the Chuleta a la piedra, a big steak cooked on a very hot stone, is difficult to beat. Quality of the meat is first class, it's cooked to perfection and melts in the mouth. Rafa, the chef, is also an amateur magicien who'll suddenly make a silk handkerchief disappear and reappear, while service is carried out very professionally and with almost constant badinage by Belén, a character in her own right. Highly recommended both for the quality of the cuisine, the good price/qualtiy ratio and the friendly ambiance.

The Tamarises Izarra Restaurant is located on the 1st floor of the Tamarises building, and offers Basque cuisine in a bright and relaxed environment by the sea in Getxo.
What a marvelous restaurant! We visited Bilbao for a wedding which then held their reception at this really nice spot. Right on Bilbaoâs beach with gorgeous sunsets most nights, this restaurant excels in providing yummy, exquisite food. Over three days, we ate a late lunch and a dinner in the dining room, and then were treated to a 6-course feast at the wedding reception. Every meal, every item served was well prepared, presented nicely, and was wonderfully tasty. We are planning a cruise that will see us in Bilbao next spring and we WILL eat here again! If you have the option for a place to eat in the area surrounding Bilbao, choosing Tamarises Izarra will make you very happy!

Breakfast, lunchs, snacks every day and dinners Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Delicious and juicy spanish tortilla, roast of the day everyday, homemade food and cakes (carrot cake, Brownie, lemon meringue pie, pudding,...) just renovated
We stopped in because of the great TA reviews and they were right on the money. We had fish stew, chicken teriyaki, and the roasted vegetable salad. They were great values, large portions, and fresh well presented ingredients. If you've never tried the patron peppers, then this is a great opportunity to give them a try. The owner and her family go out of the way to make your dining experience wonderful.
