We were hungry at lunch but didnât want a heavy, complicated ristorante type A-Z meal. Since we were in the neighborhood we found RPMLL. What a treat! Foccacia to start, with a cipolla topping. Excellent salad, fantastic pizza: perfect crust, exceptional sauce, highest quality mozzarella... fine quality olive oil and tasty balsamic vinegar... chased down with local Lambrusco. Topped off with lemoncello and an unbelievable cherry liquor which we were informed was 42% alcohol. The interior is a bit tacky. Donât let that put you off. Hungry? Go! Closed Mondays.

After visiting the castle our group enjoyed the superb local cuisine in the Castle restaurant. We had a set meal which featured the deicious fried bread ..but donât be alarmed this is a tasty fluffed up bread that is the perfect accompaniment to the mouth watering local hard cheese. The food and wine was plentiful, tasty and efficiently served. The perfect end to the castle visit. Coffee was served in the bar after the meal and added to the experience.

We stumbled across this bar when trying to find our B&B-we were starving hungry and the restaurant was not yet open however the bar was busy with locals and the bar manager produced a lovely plate of procuito ham and cheeses and then a slice of roasted vegetable lasagne-delish.-

A pleasant surprise for such a rural stand alone trattoria. Good selection of pasta, primi, and secondi. Wine list has some good value selections and the staff was very friendly. No one spoke English or did they have an English menu, so if you don't know at least how to read Italian or at least fake it. This may not we your choice. They were very accommodating, but you may get a surprise if you just point at something and don't know what it is (they won't be able to explain).

Great food with quite honest prices. Everything was really nice, especially my husband's tagliolini with truffle and the fried polenta with giardiniera. The restaurant is small, welcoming and simply furnished. The only slightly negative point was the service. We had a couple of minor issues but nothing to put us off coming back again when we're in the area.

New place in Sala Baganza. French atmosphere. French portions. Good service. Main for 16-17 Euro. Locals will like it for special events. Visitors most likely prefer the authentic Italian food.

This was the second time we had been here for lunch with our tango friends. We were impressed the first time and not disappointed the second. Buzzy restaurant serving good home cooking but what sets it apart is the wonderful view. Good service and reasonable prices. Must book, especially on Sunday lunchtimes. Good to combine with either the salami museum or wine museum nearby
