A Mediterranean & Middle Eastern restaurant offering freshly prepared chargrilled and meze dishes with a rustic themed decor.
Been here for lunch , the starter hallumi is very tasty. The main course rice and chip is good , the chicken and sauce is ok , but salad is fresh . THe dessert - Fudge cake is warm - so gladly is warm , as a lot of restaurant serve it cold - like buying from Tesco - not good . And the vanilla ice cream is very tasty . Staff is friendly . Overall, it is good dining experience, and will come here again Hi Joanne C,Thank you so much for your review and we are so glad you thoroughly enjoyed your experience with us. We particularly enjoy our desserts too! We hope to see you again very soon!ThanksMeat N Meze

We enjoyed a decent Italian meal at this quite large restaurant.... however its size can be a problem as even on a Saturday evening it lacked any real atmosphereNotwithstanding that though, we found the food to be pretty good quality and all was reasonably priced - even though they did mess up a couple of our main course orders

Gussto is a meditaranean restaurant in the heart of durham city. It is a family run business with a unique experience that takes you to the heart of the meditaranean , Our homemade dishes are bursting with flavour in which our chefs take pride in the food
Restaurant clean and pleasant. Staff were also very pleasant. But the food was disappointing. We had the lunchtime special of 3 tapas for £10.95 per head, so six different dishes between us. Almost all of them were very bland, very much lacking in flavour. The beef was good however, very tender and relatively tasty. i would not have liked to have paid the full menu price for them. The croquettes we had for example - there were only three of them - were quite small, and menu price if I remember correctly was over £5.We would not return here.

This is such a charming little authentic italian restaurant. Greeted by very friendly staff - we booked a table in advance and I would definitely recommend doing that as it became full pretty quickly after we were seated. Excellent menu choice including specials - all sounded yummy. I opted for the seafood pasta which I have to say is the best I have ever eaten - plenty of mussels, large prawns and chuncky pieces of fish all in a delicious tomato and garlic sauce. Others had pizza which looked equally as good.Wine choice, although limited, was good quality at reasonable prices. All in all an excellent meal in nice cosy setting with knowledgable and friendly staff.

Luckily the chain restaurant across the road was full so we thought weâd try here. Very happy about that.Super welcome, big portions of freshly cooked traditional Italian pastas and pizzas. There is a surprisingly wide choice on the menu, with a few specials and something for everyone.Loved the calamari starter, pasta mains were quite big portions and delicious. Vegetarian options a plenty. We didnât feel rushed, the coffee was top notch, and the team of staff were keeping the restaurant clean and tidy.We will be very happy to come back

Nice little restaurant on Claypath. Good menu.Chose the fiery king prawns on Mexican rice and the hanging kebabs. Decent portions and very fresh. Garlic bread wasnât really âbreadâ however, it was a pizza base and not that great.Decent cocktails. Reasonable service.

There was a large group of us for my mam's 60th birthday, and everything came together wonderfully. Starters and mains were lovely- no complaints. I had the kiev pizza which was lovely, and the mozzarella to start. My mam was surprised with a birthday cake which the restaurant let us eat there. Authentic Turkish cuisine set in a 1600's, grade 2 listed building, in the heart of Durham City. A warm welcome comes as standard. Afiyet Olsun.
Ate as a family of four. A small starter was a good ideas as the main courses were huge. Meat feast for 2 was enough for 3 hungry adults easily. My wife had the sea bass which was delicious and also a good size. The grilled halloumi was an excellent choice too. Meal for 4 £120 including a couple of pints and a G&T and soft drinks. We will be back.
